Pretty pathetic effort from English rucking last night, surely you would learn to not get pushed out of position constantly.

He’s actually taller than Grundy.
Think a couple of times it was actually the breeze from a player running past that pushed him out ;)

Height counts for squat when youre giving up 15kg to the bloke pushing you around

I think it is trying to fit them all in the midfield , wings and HBF that is the problem.

Sloane , Crouch * 2 , Milera , Atkins (or Knight) get confused who is who

then Laird , Smith , Gibbs

still think Greenwood needs more mid time as well

there is a certain small forward who needs a massive lift in output or he could be joining Gibbs
Think our mids are good and our defence is “ok”, they just aren’t converting forward opportunities into goals. Jenkins needs to start converting set shots, Tex needs to “Do Something”, small forwards need to apply some forward pressure when they don’t have the ball. Actually think Riley Knight's been ok, as has Chayce Jones as a draftee, Jones chases hard and does well for his experience.

The defence has trouble transitioning once the clamps are put on Laird & Smith , the rest of them are not special kicking wise and gaining distance.

As good as the Crouch boys are getting the ball they kick like Tony Shaw so need to handball the ball to the runners ie Milera , Sloane , Smith

JJ and Walker need more impact , and Eddie needs to lift.

I will watch closely tonight and try and workout which one is Atkins and which one is Knight.

Like we did with Sam Jacobs after he came from Carlton? Think he'll be alright.
You don't like paying overs for players though , so do you offer him $ 1.2 million a season or trust ROB as number 1 ?

Think you'll generally see Riley Knight floating around half forward (hopefully) kicking goals, you'll also recognise him by his haircut once you notice it ?, Atkins seems to operate more out of half back.

Option A. Nothing wrong with ROB but Grundy's pretty clearly the best ruck in the league so......

And I think I’m a curious mouse - he does look elite
Undoubtedly elite but the big concern for me is when/if he spends more time forward.
Do you mean in terms of his role?
I think most of us have viewed him as an obvious SC gun if he could get a bit more ball ... just need that to continue?
This may change as the season progresses, but I think we have seen a bit of a shift from the Bulldogs this season.
It's like Bevo has decided, the last 2 seasons were a waste, being tricky doesn't work, I'm just going to keep it simple, and play my best players, in their best roles, instead of throwing them here and there during the game. Seems to be working.

I don’t have anyone not playing to loophole Grundy! How did I get in this spot?!?
Thoughts on me cashing out Scott or Gibbons to a base rookie to loophole this week and in to the future?
I also haven’t (clearly) done the research regarding who has lots of Sunday games.
Keep in mind, that move doesn't get you 160 points, but more likely 20-40 points.
I don't think it is worth burning a trade, and a cash generating Rookie, for 20-40 points.

I hope you are right - I think it can be frustrating for everyone (fans, players, SCers) when coaches don’t do this.

With that said, I would feel more comfortable relying on someone who is naturally rational rather than belatedly or reluctantly rational :p

I like that.
The reluctantly rational will always eventually get an attack of the "Yeah, but......"'s

Is Cousins likely to get more mid time if OMeara doesn't play?

I can use Scott for looping, but don't reckon it's necessary to loop Constable - so I'd be looking at putting the E on Butters, and if he goes alright benching Cousins. You can be sure if I do, Constable will have his first low score and Cousins will tonne up.

What do you guys reckon? I guess we don't call it Rookie Roulette for nothing.

Hoping that Danger or Cripps can put up a huge game as one of the many facing Grundy as VC on the other team this week.

Also hoping Nank can do something this afternoon as I'll be a bit flat if both Dunkley and Nank both underperform after resisting the urge to trade one this week.

That’s what I’m doing too. Think JOM out (if it happens) should help Cousins, but I’d defer to a Hawks fan.

I assume CD rated most of his handballs an inconsequential and uncontested, and he wasn't credited with any HTA. I thought a few of his handballs could have been classed as loose ball gets or intercepts, and there had to be a couple of hitouts that were to advantage. It's all academic though, if he's in the side next week I'm pretty sure he won't be rucking alone. Or maybe he will, Beveridge is still stuck in 2016.
He only had 6 hit outs so even if he had 0 HTA it wouldn’t really affect his ratio from DT to SC much at all. His work around the ground was really good.

I’m torn if I should trade him to Mummy this week
