My plan was always to upgrade Goldy to Grundy, hoping Grundy may have started slower and price between them may have closed.
There’s also no rush to do that Goldy to ROB trade right now. You can park ROB at R3 and see how both Goldy/ROB go. Then later trade Goldy out to a premo if ROB looks okay, might let Goldy increase his price a bit more too after that 60 odd drops out.

English to ROB?
That's my question, English to ROB or English to Mummy and Setterfield to ROB. Option 2 brings more scoring consistency and better JS, but would mean having Bines and Balta (would probably trade next week) on my FWD bench with Parker apparently in doubt.

I was going Mummy, but I think he still need an upgrade and will probably make less than ROb...

English to ROB?
no brainer for me

as good as English will be he looks a 60-70 player now and won't make $$$

ROB hopefully keeps scoring 80+

allows me to keep Bines at R3 and Balta at F8 with the option of Drew (Setterfield) and Moore (Burgess) at F6/F7

Waiting for the first Gawn to ROB toe in the water. Anyone?
I'm already knee deep in the water...:D

It's certainly a strong consideration for me, maybe not this week, but if we get some further clarity on Jacobs injury, then Gawn OUT (shifting ROB to R2) to replace a FWD Rookie on-field has some short term merits for my team.

There’s also no need to lock this in this week. If ROB is at R3, Gawn out can be a consideration for future weeks. BE of 137 might be the only rush, but even with a 90-100 he should still be above $610k

keep thinking if O’Brien can push towards an 80 odd average
Watching ROB, imho he is still very, very average, at this stage... serviceable, but I'd expect scores more like those of English. The good thing about him though is price and BE, even at 65 avg he makes some good coin, and upgrading him to Grundy at some point at least partially o***ets the misery of not starting with Grundy.
If the game is quicker, and a slow Westhoff is playing on the wing, then I can see why he is not scoring well.
Yes, at least pre-Lycett, Westhoff would be dragged into the contest by rucking around the ground. Round one he seemed to be a re-invented Westhoff with a new lease on life, but after Weitering beat him up so badly in his round 2, 250th game, it's like he's had that life sucked back out of him.
Port have to tweak something, maybe Westhoff will benefit.

Yes, I think that's the way to do it. I doubt I will jump but if ROB continues to be an 80 scorer and I could get gawn to a discounted tKelly and bump a 50 off field, and use that to fund a def premo as well (laird?) then the sums start to get tempting.

Why is everyone so keen to move Butters on?
Yes, he should have a week off, but if he keeps averaging 62 he's another 80k to make pre bye. Are we that desperate for cash?

R: English, Clarke (Bines)

Think I will probably go Butters > Mumford via the magic of DPP

Shifts Bines forward for now and Clarke to the bench

Means I will have used 2 trades on my rucks already and I am no closer to Gawn and Grundy
Didnt actually realise that ROB was priced so cheaply, thought he was in the 300k range for some reason....

I've already gone Darcy > Clarke at the end of round 2...

Am I being wasteful doing

English > Mumford
Butters(or someone similar) > ROB

Would leave me
R: Mumford, ROB (Clarke)

F: (Bines)

Break even of 48 which is probably the highest among the current batch of rookies, says he is the logical one to cull first...don't disagree that he might be worth holding on to, but I reckon the break even is the reason people are looking to trade him

Port also have a hard run of games coming up and light framed rookies start to struggle after a few rounds.

I must be one of the few who isn’t trading ROB in this week. With all the uncertainty around the FWD rookies due to scoring potential, JS, injuries and suspensions, I just can’t run the risk of moving Bines to F8.
I think that’s a fair enough move. Teams definitely could get caught out if they’re a bit more reliant on fwd rookies. Parker out might rule out ROB for many sides.
