Hi guys,

Please take a look at my attachment and give me some advice on what to do this week.

Is it worth trading in Hore for Collins to generate some more cash along with say Baker for Parker?

Or am I better off getting rid of Bailey Scott and bringing in Treloar and then say Parker to Baker?

I have $381k in the bank.

Gone cold on Parker to Baker. It's only netting $50K for a trade which mean Baker gonna have to earn a bundle to make it worth it

What if you factor in that Parker is predicted to rise $8k & Baker $64k this week, plus higher future projections?

Trying to do the math lol

One trade this week: Parker to Baker, not much cash but he looks like he’s worth it. Leaves me with 140k.

one of Collins, Atkins, Butters or J Clark to Hayes or Hately the week after and an upgrade at the same time to one Sicily, Stewart or Luke Ryan
Both Hayes and Hately look like very good downgrade prospects though. Hayes has a year in the VFL and racked up a fair bit of the ball last week, reckon he could go 70ppg. Hately looks ready made. I think both of them will be worth brining in.

Plenty of 'low' draft picks have been fantasy studs, wouldn't be using draft hierarchy as an indicator on JS or fantasy scoring.
To be honest scoring in juniors and draft number is a pretty good guide to rookies, it’s not all that matters but it’s important. He averaged 97 in the tac cup and didn’t play in the u/18 champs. Very few 18 y/o guys drafted below 40 end up being decent cash cows in year one.

I’d rather have both but I’ll only be able to bring one in in all likelihood

In very simple maths you ideally want a rookie to make 100k-150k on a trade and trades worth 100k. So your getting only 50k on the trade and using a trade up. So a break even for the trade is 150k.

So when baker hits 310k your even on the transaction. Then he make a little more if he survives that long.

Still might be worth it if you havent done many trades and will give you a 350k odd rookie, compared to 250k odd rookie (assuming ave score remains same)

Which rookie are you planning to downgrade for him?
I not planning to get him. I was just commentating in general about his football ability as a mid.
Happy with Walsh, Constable and Gibbons at moment in my midfield. Bailey Scott on thin ice though. If I do trade him maybe Will Hayes or Hately but at moment more interested in finding an upgrade to forward line. Connor Rozee B/E gone up so probably has to go. Sam Collins down back probably almost similar but not seen his B/E but low score will not help it. Downgrades not first thing on my mind at moment.

Collins' B/E is 43

Are ross and baker Important trade ins thoughts.
Id say given their unknown JS they aren't must-have rookies but certainly will serve a purpose as a downgrade if you are looking to generate some cash.

I think it's important to consider if you are getting benefit from downgrading any of your current rookies for them. See Ormos' post above. For me, Parker > Baker, netting you $50k, is probably not going to break even in terms of value. Not really sure there are many rookies around at this point that are worth downgrading

That's probably true but if it means I can upgrade another one to Rocky I'll take it.

Edit: gets me a rookie off the field, focus now is to do ok in my leagues which will be a challenge ranked 50k+.

Gah, might just go for the rookies this week. It’s always my weakness, though. Taking the rookies over the upgrades.

Ross/Baker for Scott/Parker(or sideways Balta?)

Gives me money for an upgrade next week (when Hatley will be available...)

A SC score of 200 next week would indeed be, um, decent :) Cotchin maybe out for longer to now which should probably also help him.

Was thinking the same. Both Stack and Gibbons are now just like high priced rookies but with a bit more history...decent JS and roles, especially now Gibbons seems to have found a new role and some mojo

Baker BE -86
Stack BE -16

Not just 10k difference but another 30-40k there alone in their BE’s.

Baker would make 80k with a 100 this week btw.

I'm looking at two options at the moment involving two 'one up, one down' trades:

1. Cousins to Hore (Durrsma into mids); Rozee to Telly (or similarly priced 'premo; forward) swinging Moore to D4

Leaves me looking like this:

2. Cousins to Baker (Drew into mids); Rozee to Telly (or similarly priced 'premo' forward) leaves Dunkley F4 swinging, Moore to D4

Leaves it like this:

The other option would be to wait on Telly for a week, as he'll still have the 36? in his 3 game rolling average.

Anyway, any feedback on those ideas, or any other suggestions welcome. I've yet to take my bye structure into account so far as who I bring in forward, so that's another thing. Have only used 2 trades so far.
