Not seeing the love for Lockhart ... wholesale changes in a team where the coach will be lucky to keep his job ... what will his in fix ??

- trading out Hogan has been a disaster IMO ...

Edit: so is this a sign of waving the "White Flag" and going into rebuild mode ... mmm ... I don't see any drastic improvements to the team this week !!

Mmmm what about Clark>Lockhart and Parker>Boak?
non-boak owner here [i have gray and wish i had boak lol] but with barass going down with a foot injury i think rotham [if named] might have more upside than lockhart.

boak would have to be near top price which isn't ideal but he is showing no signs of tailing off. personally i'm hoping he does, no offense : ]

i am also offloading clark this week and keeping moore so i like this trade better than the first ones you posted.

Cheers for that. Only problem is that getting Lockhart would only leave me with $2k in the bank, thus I can't afford Rotham (Unless I trade Duursma)

Darling -> Baker
Collins -> Sicily / Laird / Crisp ( in that order)

Def Rookies on field : Hore , Duursma
Fwd Rookies on field: Moore, Drew, Baker

Thoughts? feeling very annoyed w/ Darling

aahhh yep, typical SC conundrum then : ]

i'm with Courtesans in that i don't like to give advice, just idle thoughts- could it be possible a double downgrade would work better for you and bring in boak next week? with a BE of 107 he is not likely to be too much dearer and you have a bit more leeway for upgrades with more bank.

I agree too ... don't like giving any specific trade advice but do read a lot, like divergent opinions and don't mind tossing / discussing various options ... but too me at the end of the day it still comes down to an individual choice ...

Oliver I think, gets a rookie off the park, builds your side.
My options are to do Collins to Oliver or Ridley to Lockhart (after Clark to Baker) - 4k short of Ridley to Oliver.

I think Oliver should still be a good pick this year... Has had quite a few 80 type scores compared to last year (either means that there is a positive regression to come, or maybe he’s not quite 100%?).

The lack of decent backline rookies to come makes me feel like Lockhart is a good buy this round. Young’s scoring potential seems worse than Lockhart. Iffy JS with Suckling maybe 2 weeks away after he comes off the bubble. Lockhart’s scoring/JS isn’t much better, but at least he’s cheap and has DPP...!

Rotham seems the best scoring def rookie in the pipeline, but he needs one more injury to get a gig.

All in all, thinking about taking the def rookie this round as there doesn’t seem to be many to come. Will hope Oliver stays quiet but wouldn’t be surprised if he put in a good one as he’s due.

Unless someone convinces me otherwise (lol) this is what I’m going to do no matter how silly it sounds!!!

Darling to Baker
McGovern to Brodie Smith

Will have 25 trades left and about 375k in the bank. Plan for next week is to upgrade Parker and possibly bring in Hatley for one of my rookie mids (Atkins/butters/jones/Scott)

i seem to remember a recent game where 6 changes didn't turn out too bad for a team ;)

maybe it's just another team copying the mighty tiges to gig wheeze some success : ]

is anyone here still have Setterfield and is planning on keeping him to loophole ? or is the plan to trade him out now or the week after cause he won't make much more dough?
Holding. Can loop Scott with Constable this week (if Scott stays in) via Setterfield and then think Setterfield has another 100-125k to moo in him yet.

Has a SC friendly role just hasn’t had the cleanest of disposal.

Is Darling to Daniel worth the trade? Or better off going Darling to Baker (i’d already get Baker for Clark in option 1)

this is good thinking. i'm approaching the apparent lack of def rookies a different way myself, i have burgess and moore in def and they can be swung fwd and replaced with upgrades via more abundant fwd and fwd/mid options. in theory haha i'm not even sure if it makes sense. as logical as bringing him in for the reasons you stated is, i'm just not sold on lockhart. will probably regret it though : ]

Moore -> Baker

Dunno why.... but it feels a little off. The other option is Clarke to baker, but it nets me 100k less.

Thoughts? Doesn't feel like Moore will be a keeper, so not sure how much more cash I should be expecting from him.

Second trade, butters -> Rocky. Has burned me so many times in the past but his ceiling is so high...

There were some robust discussion on the merits of a Gawn/Grundy to ROB last round...and one which I gave some serious thought into executing myself.

Crazy...???

Well current Overall Leader doesn't believe it to be as Gawn to ROB was one of their trade (Grundy R1 and Bines R3). Very ballsy move but kudos to them for making it considering their rank.

I'm interested to see how this particular move pan out for the remainder of the season.

Agree that Moore isn't going to be a keeper, that's a given.

Also agree that he probably doesn't make a whole lot more cash.

However, I think he has a lot of value as a D/F swingman. He's a safe 70 points which, in the current rookie landscape, is probably sufficient. Later on, particularly during the bye rounds, being able to swing him will be pretty valuable

Preuss out this round might prove to be a spanner to that strategy. I'm sure there would've been some hope that Gawn would fall under $600k with Preuss in the side. A large score against Nank (especially as many might have him as a VC) might prove costly.
