It looks like people are fairly confident on Young’s JS - is that gut feel, or is there something driving that (injuries to other players, he lived with the coach, pressure acts off the charts, etc)?

If you could get any sub 480k forward or defender aside from Danger or Heeney, who would you choose? I'm set on Moore-Lloyd and upgrading Constable as well leaves me 480k to play with.

Thoughts on the moves this week, before trades my team looks like this:

B3954B67-36F7-4359-B8A7-E023CBA2BDBD.jpeg 98393A8F-AD61-41CE-B577-738A735415C6.jpeg

Thinking:
Moore -> Stewart
Drew -> Young

Anyone got any better alternatives?
I know it hurts my Defensive byes for now but would rather just get the best players I can in right now.

Next week I’m thinking:
Baker -> Rookie
O’Brien -> Grundy or Walsh -> Neale.

Thoughts on fallen 2017 premium Brandon Ellis? 4 of his 8 games have been 100+ and his down of 50 game... All the tigers had a down game there.

Seems to have a stable spot in the team again. Any thoughts? Any tigers supporters can help me out with some thoughts on how his going this season?
It's his spot to lose at the moment Tiga. hardwick has even said it was a mistake to drop him last year, so JS is goood.
players and coach love him, he's regained confidence, even bodylined the ball a couple of times which is a tad rare for ellis.
probably every tiger will tell you the same here- when he is on a wing and running he is best.
beware though, that he gets put in defence- he is freaking horrible in defence, becomes a different player.

that said, he and kmac are doing really well on their respective wings and he should stay there, with edwards currently doing a good job at hb.
would be looking at him myself if not for his bye, good luck.

Had initially planned to bring Macrae in but I don't think I can execute it anymore. Below are a couple of options and I would greatly appreciate advice or suggestions on the preferred option (currently leaning towards option 2). Also due to other commitments I'll likely have to make trades before teams are finalised tomorrow afternoon/evening for the Sunday matches.

1. Out: C Constable, D Moore, In: J Macrae, N Balta/R Young
15,000 or 151,200 left
Burgess filling in for Williams, Balta/Young replacing D Moore as F5/F6 but risking a donut if Setterfield and Danger both miss.

2. Out: ROB, D Moore, In: R Young (via Bines), J Lloyd (via C Burgess)
234,700 left.
Burgess replaces D Moore at F5/F6, ROB cashed out, Z Williams pushed to the bench with Duursma as his replacement, Atkins/Stocker if Constable misses, Setterfield/Young filling in for Danger, sufficient cash to upgrade Hayes/Constable to P Cripps/J Macrae next week via a downgrade.
Locked in Out: ROB and D Moore, In: R Young (via P Bines) and J Lloyd (via C Burgess) as I'll be unable to view final teams and trade before the commencement of tonight's match.

Z Williams to the bench with J Lloyd as his replacement, C Burgess to the forward line at F6, 1 of W Setterfield and R Young to replace Danger to avoid a fwd donut and with Constable's non selection 1 of T Atkins or L Stocker to fill in to avoid a mid donut.

Constable to Cripps/Macrae set for next round.

Trading Moore and Hayes
To Lloyd and young
Leaves me with a team of:

Hurn, Whitfield, Lloyd , hore, duursma, Lockhart (Williams , butts)
Macrae, Oliver, Fyfe, Kelly, Cripps, Rockliff, Walsh, stack (Scott, answerth , stocker)
Gawn, Grundy (bines)
Danger, Kelly, Walters, Boak, Heeney, balta (young, setterfield)

Good enough to keep rank 14 you think?
congrats on your ranking so far, well done

how much bank do you have ? and trades ?

looks like you still have 2 defenders in defence to upgrade, Walsh & Stack + Balta

hopefully your bench playing rookies make enough $$$ for you

Is it possible that Young ends up being the one to push Parker out of the side... they played together last week but now Parker likely to be out of the team?

I don’t have a view on this unfortunately (would love to hear more), but as a Parker owner I wasn’t panicked about him being on the extended bench given there are c. 5 new ins that are as well.

I assume Parker is still ahead of a large chunk of the new additions (unless they’re returning from an injury/suspension I’m not aware of) ... ie, they’re being added to the squad because it now has 4 extra players, rather than that they’ve played themselves into a spot ahead of Parker?

Very interested in any data points/anecdotes on Young’s JS.

Thought I remember reading that Young had pushed Ben Long out of the side but I don't actually watch many saints game so might be way off the mark here.

I don't think there's much crossover between Parker and Young - Parker is supposed to be a 3rd tall type while Young is more your small-fwd pressure type who actually is playing closer to the center square as a flanker (which will hopefully help his scoring in coming weeks).

Young is definitely a risk to go early on, but he has one big thing going in his favour: his team is playing an out-of-form Blues this weekend. He's also named on the field in a team that isn't competing for finals and is thus looking to blood some young talent ROS, unlike, say, the much better scoring Hately at GWS. Of the current crop of 2nd gamers for me Young has the best JS; I'd like to reiterate though he definitely has risk so buyer beware etc.

Edit: Young going into his second game obviously.

I was just looking at players under 440k with low be's that (might) be underpriced.

They may be value or traps.

Wells, J J K, Caddy, Petracca, T J Lynch, Greene.

I stopped at Toby as the be's started to go up and I was only looking at low be players.

The list is not complete as any players that I didn't think have any upside were not considered further.

FWIW atm I have traded Tommy the tiger into my side, although this may change with final squads tonight and Toby and JJK both have some interest for me.

Food for thought and a starting point for you I guess.

Just following up on some earlier posts today, I had a look at Ziebell earlier this week and I think he represents value if he maintains that midfield role he's had in his recent purple patch. However I think that's a very big if, especially given LDU is an in this week.

While they're not the same player (Ziebell much more of an inside SC-friendly type) my experience with SPS in recent weeks shows the pitfalls of picking such a player. You also have to account for the fact Ziebell, like SPS, is not DPP. He's also part of a team with no real set structure at the moment given how poor they've been overall so changes should be expected in terms of players roles.

Basically Ziebell is just for the people who are not risk averse - a lot of the time with these types you'll end up picking a dud and a small fraction of the time you'll end up with a season changer.

Thanks a lot psykro. All I needed was this.

It's a risk but at his price... It's not an overly big risk. As for his bye.. I'm hoping to have bought in some post-bye players by then.

He cut us up last week. Hopefully he can do it to everyone else this year.

From that list.. Petracca would be no chance for me. Only because he promises so much and never delivers.
