More details on Hurn
West Coast Eagles Shannon Hurn has been ruled out of the Eagles’ crucial clash with Sydney on Sunday due to a hamstring strain.
Hurn left the field late in the third term against the Bulldogs in round 11 and did not return to the field, with subsequent scans showing a slight hamstring strain which will keep him out of action for at least one week.

West Coast Eagles general manager of football Craig Vozzo said Hurn should be available after the club’s bye in round 13.
“It’s a very low-grade strain, that we’ve diagnosed,” Vozzo said.
“On doctor’s advice we’re going to take the week off, get him right and have him available post-bye.”
The Eagles could receive a boost in the big man department, with Tom Hickey on track to be available for selection after two weeks off with an ankle injury.
“Tom Hickey has passed all of the relevant testing that they do,” Vozzo said.
‘He’s got main training on Thursday with the group, we expect him to get through that and be available for selection.”
The progress of key defender Tom Barrass has ramped up with the 23 year-old also pushing to return to the field following the bye.
“The (medical) boys have accelerated his program, he’s doing more and more on-ground running,” Vozzo said.
“He did some training yesterday with the main group, at this rate we’re anticipating he’ll be back main training in the next week, to two weeks, and not that far away from playing.”
WAFL Eagles skipper Fraser McInnes will miss this weekend’s game against West Perth on Sunday due to an AC sprain in his shoulder, but the side should be bolstered by the return of dashing defender Francis Watson (AC joint) and bullocking midfielder Hamish Brayshaw.
“Fraser (McInnes) has had a bit of an unlucky run with the AC, he’s got an AC sprain at the moment which he’s recovering from,” Vozzo said.
“He’s probably a week away and with the benefit of the bye he’ll be available straight after that.
“Hamish Brayshaw has made great strides, he’s medically fit and has now been building up his training volumes.
“He was unlucky not to play last week, he almost got to the line, assuming he gets through training on Thursday he’ll play on the weekend.
“Franky (Watson) has now been medically cleared, so assuming he gets through training he’ll play on the weekend.”
Superstar ruckman Nic Naitanui remains on track for a return post-bye while Daniel Venables (concussion), Harry Edwards (foot) and Patrick Bines are still being assessed in terms of a return to play date.
