Crows coloured glasses Herbie? That being said, it was publicised (in Adelaide at least) that he would’ve got games last year and Sauce would’ve be rested if he didn’t get injured. I wasn't expecting this solid early run, was expecting a slow burn, but for his starting price he seemed to me the best rookie ruck option to get games.
smart selection I think , well done

Will take a leaf out of Row's book and choose rucks first next year before choosing my other starting premos. You just cannot afford a negative POD there as the gap between 1and 2 and the rest is usually a killer.

One thing I've learnt in fantasy footy over all these years is that rucks are not the place to traditionally take risks - the options are often limited should something go wrong. We've all had those seasons Herbie with rucks and why it's set and forget for me each year
Even Goldy who some felt was a decent substitute is lagging well behind Gawndy, averaging 101. It is just too much of a gap and not worth the $ saving at the start IMO. Maybe someone has clawed back those 25 ppg with the saved $150K in some fashion they can justify but it wouldn't be many.

After Goldy the 4th averaging ruck is Kruze at around 96.

Mumford averaging 88 and has risen only $90K is also food for thought given many would have started him had he been available R1.

It's a massive discrepancy between Gawndy and the rest and it is hard to see this changing next year at this stage. I think the real killer has been that Gawndy have gone huge regularly enough that there just has not been a great price drop at any time so people have had to find $150-200K+ to do upgrades in the ruck even from Goldy types. It just sets you back too far against the Gawndy teams who are doing real upgrades of rookies in the meantime.

I am hoping to disprove this theory in a few weeks when ROB turns into Grundy.... :)

Yep ^ No KPFs ever.

Def: Lloyd and Laird
Mid: JKelly, Cripps, Macrae, Titch
Ruck: Gawn/Grundy probably. Still in their prime.
Fwd: Who knows

It won't be a straight swap though but yeah closer to $100K than $200K. It will be a bit late for the overall ranking chasing teams doing such a key upgrade that late in the season but for leagues yes ROB big tick.

Is there a minimum number of games that need to be played for players to be priced at their average?

Looking at a couple of my Dons using a MN that I worked out to be around 5428 this year.

Daniher 4 @62.3 = $338,160
Dev 7 @68.7 = $372,900
In the past anyone playing 7 or less games the previous season is "entitled" to a discount which can be anywhere between 10-30% depending on how generous they are feeling.

I remember posting it at the end of last season in one of the threads ?

Theoretically Docherty should get another 30% discount but they may decide differently.

Fwd: Pretty simple - just pick players that aren't actually forwards...

This year, the only 100+ averaging "forwards" are Boak, Kelly, Dunkley, Danger, Walters (midfielders), Daniel (HBF) and Marshall (ruck).
spot on , still think it would be more interesting if we actually had to choose 2-3 KPF each season as part of our Forward set-up , doubt they will ever change it though.

I think it would take a brave person to start him next season, even if he's a forward and around 450k.
I guess it will all depend on which F/M's they "gift" us next season.

Quick look at the current Top 12 averaging forwards and only Hawkins , Cameron & Lynch are the only true forwards amongst them.

Might be a tough year if the likes of Telly, Boak, Dunks, Caleb, Ziebell , Walters, Worpel, Marshall, Paddy ?? etc aren't available as forward options ...

Franklin , JJK , McDonald , Hogan , Lynch will all be cheap though.
