Yeah the sports alliance is a bit annoying, and can’t see it being split up unless they start pissing each other off. I thought ET striked me as the Matt Rogers type. They all seem to gravitate towards ET as the leader and consult him about ideas and who to vote out, as opposed to telling him what to do. Would love to see Bradbury do a Bradbury and wait for the favourites to crash out before emerging as the winner. I reckon he’s started off well by forming the alliance and then quickly fading back into the background as the grey man and a foot soldier.

Luke is bound to get booted early. Did he win it during the season he was on?
Oh yeah forgot about ET. You're right about that. Narh Luke came top 7 I think 2 years ago.

I actually liked how Nova Peris used her politician skills to influence and turn the group think. I don’t think that ex NRL guy has as much power as he might think ;)

Anyone watch Australian Survivor?
Simon Black (Champion) vs Shaun Hampson (Contender) on it this year.
I reckon it’s one of the best shows on TV.

Some interesting people this year, not 100% sure who I’m going for yet. I’m warming to Janine, I think she’s been impressive at times. I suspect Black will go pretty well and I wouldn’t mind that.

Andy could be good to watch, although I’m a bit surprised he said so much at tribal council. I thought he was better able to control his emotions, he might have just been overexcited having finally got a chance to go to one. I think he’s potentially giving himself away and/or making people wonder about him. Even Harry seemed a bit unsure. Bit of a challenge for these super fans, they try to play it cool but sometimes they just can’t help themselves!

Yep thought the same thing about Andy, I don't mind him so far. Gotta love his passion, etc. But as you say, think he may have gone on a little bit too much at tribal. Unless that's just the way it was cut.

Would greatly appreciate thoughts on which series to view next as I'm currently in the process of completing the Batman TV series from the 60's but can't decide between Simpsons Seasons 1-9 or Curb Your Enthusiasm Seasons 1-9 as my next series to complete.

Have seen those Simpsons episodes countless times in comparison to only seeing parts of Curb (seen most of Season 3-5 and 8-9 but not the rest) and thoroughly enjoy both shows.
Curb Your Enthusiasm easily.
So many funny moments over so many seasons.

Thanks.

What are your favourite episodes?

As mentioned above I’ve only caught roughly half of them but The Doll and The Carpool Lane episodes are my favourites.

I'm a survivor superfan lol. And yep I definitely remember Russell's first season... Just a pity he didn't win it due to the bitter jury. Clearly the best player that season.

Edit: Have seen every US season, aussie season and a few NZ ones.
I might be wrong but I don't think I have ever seen the jury give the million to someone they personally dislike.
I've only seen about 6-7 seasons right thru though.

It seems that it doesn't matter how you got to the end, if the other people dislike/don't respect you, they won't hand you a big pay check.

I do not have a favourite as way too many of them that are great that literally had me in stitches at time of watching. Some I may not have seen for a decade. But most memorable tend to be with Susie going ape **** at Larry. The decapitated doll of her daughter one that comes to mind readily.

Season 1: Richard Hatch was hated, he won because a few didn't like Wigglesworth's gameplay and respected his gameplay and well also one guy randomly gave Hatch a vote because he told them to pick a number and closest one he'll vote for lol.

To me, the earlier survivor series were quite different to the last 10 years, they actually had to find/catch food and drink dirty water and had far less food rewards which really took a toll on those who hadn't physically prepared by training/bulking up/ learning skills ect.
Not much surviving going on these days as the game is nearly entirely ''schemes & strategy''.

Hatch was respected for his actual survival skills/smarts i.e being able to fish and turning up chubby so he didn't starve within a week lol.

I agree, I think they make it a bit easy now with the food. Those who could fish or hunt or forage for food used to (rightly) have an advantage because the tribe relied on them for that.

I love Survivor. Have since day 1, along with The Amazing Race my two favourite "reality" shows over the last two decades.

I told myself I would not get sucked in this year, so would not watch it as it does take up a lot of time, but alas I have watched all bar one episode so far; so I'm back in again! :ROFLMAO:

I haven't quite figured out who I am barracking for yet; but I was happy the sporting allainace broke up pretty quickly, would have been a tad boring if they stuck tight from day 1.

Agree.

However from a "TV viewing" perspective the plot twists from the scheming and strategy are what hooks the viewers in these days; so the producers are naturally going to focus on that more.

I also think the hidden immunity idols are getting easier to find. It's almost predicatable that a lot of reward items will have a hidden clue on them. I think they could make it a bit more challenging to find them and make for some compelling TV.

Agree with this. I liked the recent idol twist (no spoiler!) and think this is quite creative, it will be interesting to see how it is used.

One o***et I meant to mention: some of the challenges are getting a lot more physical. I don’t remember so many challenges in seasons lag where you have people going head to head in what is essentially a wrestling match. Someone actually got pretty badly injured last year, so there needs to be some sort of limit, but I think it definitely makes the game more challenging for the contestants.

That's definitely a fair and accurate assessment. But the game has definitely evolved and become a much different show since season 1. However it does make for good television now with all the strategy and scheming in the modern day survivor. The show probably wouldn't have lasted 38 seasons if it was more of just season 1.

Used to love The Amazing Race too but just couldn't keep up with both back in the day. I definitely was happy that the sporting alliance broke up as quickly as it started off. I'm definitely on the Luke bandwagon... just can't see him winning it unfortunately.
