@Professor

anything on Aiden Bonar at all ? or Nick Shipley ?

wasn't Hately seriously home sick too and wanted to move back home.
Bonar back to Vic, maybe Bombers, this proposed pick swap between Adelaide and GWS 4 vs 12, 18 and future 1st, could involve Hately back possibly, although not mentioned. Haven't heard anything on Shipley.

Hence trying to flog Cox to the Bombers = $500k out and bring in Jenkins for $200k base, save $300k and get a player that understands the game a bit better.
not sure how much Wells payout would have been , Goldy might have been on a reasonable amount.

Rather we kept Cox , think he is more importantly structurally than his output , actually would like to see him ruck more.

Seriously hope we don't go anywhere near JJ , but I have no say in recruiting at all.

Bonar might be worth looking at if he gets his body right , or another one who too many injuries already won't realise his potential.

Crows will need as many draft picks as they can get to cover all their departures.

Wells took a significant pay cut this year, so not sure how much he was on.

It's becoming a bit of a joke the way clubs are getting around this now, GWS & Sydney in particular with their extremely strong Academies. They continuously have these highly rated kids coming through every year, and pull this same trick every year. They keep getting stronger.
Sydney is slowly becoming less and in need of academy players given they have got top 10 talent in Heeney, Mills and Blakey for peanuts. Heeney in the old system was a joke at pick 18 or whatever it was.

But Bulldogs have been very lucky with Father-Son selections over the years - Libba, Wallis, Hunter, Zaine Cordy, West. But this luck was evened out when we selected Ayce Cordy with pick number 7. Absolute bust.

However, there is a big difference between the F/S and Academy picks. For F/S, the genes and professionalism required to be an AFL player is so hard, whereas, for academy players, they are in the system due to these factors.

I agree 100% with what you have said. Big difference between Father/Son and Academy picks.

I'm not sure what Freo's draft strategy is, but I'd be going after Luke Jackson and Deven Robertson from WA to help with retention. Not sure how happy I'd be losing out on pick 6 from Saints for Hill. But that is two first round picks for Freo that they want I guess.
That's who I wanted the Eagles to target if we hadn't off traded for Kelly. Robertson is the the nephew of Eagles new list manager Darren Glass.
Also wanted us to target Trent Rivers. But Tim Kelly will have to do I guess :)

Robertson looks like he has great potential. Certainly his leadership qualities are very impressive for someone so young. He would be a good fit for Freo. A replacement for Mundy in a like-for-like scenario.
