Hey Rowsus,

Any suggestions for me would be appreciated. 4 trades and $182K.
May have Hanley,Ibbo and possibly Kreuzer not playing. So the problem area is probably going to be the backline.
Just worked out that I could go:
Clisby to Birchall and Crouch to Watson. Should I do this? Would leave me two trades for GF still but no cash. Or do I stay away from Watson as he will be heavily tagged this week.
Another option could be two sideways trades in backline and wait until next week. Maybe forced too via Hanley and Ibbo anyway.

B:Godd,Gibbs,Shaw,HANLEY,IBBOTSON,McKenzie (Clisby,Staker)
M:Ablett,Pendles,Swan,Fyfe,JPK,Deledio,Griffen,Priddis (Crouch,OMeara)
R:KREUZER,Minson (Grundy,McBean)
F:Cox,Roughhead,Martin,Rocky,Bartel,Steve J (X.Richards,McCaffer)

Any thoughts appreciated.

Hi again Rowsus.

This question is totally unrelated to supercoach so if you choose not to respond no big deal.

As someone living in europe can you tell me how popular/reliable ford Mondeo is.

I am looking at a used Mondeo and in Australia it has been treated as a poor second cousin to the Falcon but it seems to tick all the boxes that I need with a growing family and not wanting a full/full sized car.

Again I know you are busy with a real life and supercoach issues so really not a problem if you ignore this question.

Thanks.

Now I have to be totally honest here........
asking me about cars is like asking a life long vegan which is better, a McDonalds Big Mac or a Hungry Jacks Whopper!
I've never held a car license, and the last time I drove a car (roughly 30 years ago!) it was one of those small Honda Civics that looked more like a mini-minor, than the ok car they are today. It belonged to my best friend. I accidently Evil Knievel'ed it off a small "cliff"!
I did ride a motorbike for around 6 years, but that's about it. Sorry, my opinion would mean less than nothing. :)

Hey Rowsus,

After some advice if you have some spare time.

Team prior to any trades.

Goddard, Heppell, Hanley, Gibbs, Duffield, Mckenzie (Brown Thurlow)

Ablett, Pendles, Swan, Selwood, JPK, McVeigh, Did's, Cotch (Mitchell, Viney)

Mummy, Ryder ( Nicholls, Gawn)

Cox, JJK, Martin, Bartel, Rocky, Staker (Rowe , Mcbean)

1 trade, but only 3k in bank.

The original plan was to trade Nicholls out for the best forward I could afford ( Roili, Robinson, Watts), now with the back carnage not sure which way to go.

Do you think I should trade Nicholls as above or trade Heppell to Watts, Pearce etc.

Do you see any other options?

Thanks in advance.

I have 2 trades and $108,900. And for now I will take the assumption that Cotchin and Hanley will play. Heppel is another player I have.ATM with these assumptions I face no donuts but Vlastuin as D6 and no ruck cover with McEvoy still doing my head in.

With Nicholls gone theres no point trading Big Ben anymore. But I can trade Nicholls and shift MceVoy to EMG. With Currie playnig second I cant loop anything.

Seems obvious that I will probably trade Heppel. For who would depend on who my second trade is which will detrmine cash.

Do I trade Nicholls for another ruck (knowing my luck McEvoy will score well against GCS and FRE due to their ruck stocks injured) or do I upgrade Priddis? I feel slighty guilty trading a playing player. Priddis has only scored 100 once in his past 5 games. Cotchin rested would make it easy lol. Does anyone believe with Nicholls, Smith, Sandilands out or in doubt will help McEvoy get competative or the same as Priddis? Lol

Nicholls to Minson means I only really afford Heppel to Duffield. Whatever I make on Minson I probably lose on Duffield lol.

Nicholls to J.Roughead means I can afford $481,500 on a DEF

Heppel to Enright means I can go Priddis to Jobe.

Heppel to Henderson means I afford Priddis to Griffen

Heppel to D.Pearce gets me Beams.

Infact if I got Heppel to Pearce I can trade T.Mitchell for Jobe and have Priddis as cover for any carnege next week or as a EMG if Cotchin is named but withdrawn.
Hi Zim,
I've deliberately put off some of these trade questions until after selections. It's much easier when we know what we're looking at.
There will be worse D6's in teams this week than Vlastuin. I'm not sure you will find someone in the list of Defs that you'd be reasonably confident would outscore Vlastuin by 20 or 30 this week.
You're in a very fortunate position, having both trades and cash. It allows you to separate the trades, and not be forced to use both at once. If you are playing Prelims this week you might be best served holding a trade for next week. That really depends on your opposition this week, and how the much ups look for you.
That's the good news. The bad news is, you have no Ruck or Def coverage, so might need both of those trades! Even if McEvoy is named on the bench tomorrow, there must be a query on him in a number of regards.
I think Nicholls to Z Clarke might be your best option. Then hold your trade, and assess your situation on Sunday. If Hanley, or someone else, is a late out, you still have your trade if you need it. If you look good to get through to next week, hold your trade.
The other option might be, Nicholls out, Cox up, Lewis or Petrie in. I actually prefer Clarke to Lewis or Petrie though.
Good luck :)

Should I use my last trade to trade Heppell out?
Bearing in mind the only possible defenders that I can bring in are those worth $433,000 or less so:

Charlie Dixon, Grant Birchall, Nick Malceski, Bachar Houli...

Currently playing Goddard, Gibbs, Shaw, Cannon, Staker, Duffield and Hanley (E)

Hi Rowus

My team is going very well thanks to your help and im approaching the premlinary final this week with backline problems. I have 3 trades left and 80k in the bank. My backline is goodard, hibberd, heppell, mckenzie (gc), shaw, thurlow, clisby, gibbs. My midfield is ablett, pendels, swan, jack, kennedy, barlow, mundy, selwood, martin, hrovat. Its unlikely that heppell will play this week or the rest of the season so i need to trade him out and i was considering trading out this week mckenzie or next week kennedy as they both havent been scoring great.

I was hoping to trade heppell to either p hanley (if he plays this week) or birchall. Do you think they are both good options or is there someone better?

Also who would you trade out mckenzie or kennedy? Lately there are not a lot of consistent defenders so i was leaning towards kennedy for someone like griffen or beams.

Thanks
Hi Adrenaline,
glad to hear your team is travelling well!
I believe the selection, and think Hanley will play. Having said that, there must be some question mark over him. A question that probably won't be answered before you are forced to decide on a Heppell --> Hanley trade on Saturday night. Even if it is only a 10% chance Hanley will be out, it might be too big of a risk. If it comes down to Hanley or Birchall, I think I'd go Birchall.
As to McKenzie or Kennedy JP, I'm not too sure. Given you have the main guys in Def, it's hard to see a confident upgrade on McKenzie. Kennedy scored 136 last week, so it's a guessing game if you try and trade him out.
The other option you might explore is:
This week: Nicholls to McBean, Heppell to Murphy R.
This leaves you $274,200 for next week, where you could bring in Bennell (playing GWS rnd 23) for K Martin. You could then look at Kennedy's score against Syd, or Mundy's score against StK at Etihad, before deciding to use Bennell through the loophole.
If you like Birchall more than R Murphy (Murphy has Melbourne last game!) the same trade process would leave you $363,900, and you could turn K Martin into just about anybody you like to use through the loophole next week!
Good luck! :)

Given you have no Def donut, let alone you actually have a good player at D7, I think you'd be crazy to waste your last trade on Heppell out. :)

Hey Rowsus,

Easy one for you.. I can afford to turn Clisby into any defender.. Who do you suggest?

Currently have Goddard, Hanley, Shaw, Taylor, Staker (Heppell, Ibbotson, Clisby not playing).

Figured I'd hold Heppell and Ibbotson on the miraculous chance either plays the last round.

Thinking Bob Murphy.. but would welcome and better suggestions!

Cheers!!

Given current form, and opponents to come, I don't think there is a better pick than R Murphy for you. He appears to be the safest bet, particularly having Melbourne in the SC Grand Final!
Good luck :)

Hey Deeman1,
it looks like your biggest problem is having to play Brown at D6. Even though he has Melbourne and WCE, he seems to have the greatest potential to let you down. Trading Heppell to Pearce at least gives you the opportunity to loophole a couple of average performers, in the hope of getting a good score between them. I think that's the direction I'd be heading.
Good luck :)

Hi Slammer,
it looks like you've had some good luck at the selection table, and avoided a forced trade. :)
With 4 trades, and a bit of cash, I think I'd be trying to get 3 upgrades. Of course, to do that you need to make one downgrade. The obvious downgrade would appear to be Crouch or O'Meara, bringing in Prudden or Redfern so you can get some loopholes happening in the Mids.
My first choice from there, would be to turn the other into Selwood. He's the form player, and the one that could make the biggest difference to your score.
Doing those trades gives you the opportunity to move Priddis to the bench, and put the E on him, so you can decide if you want to use his score. It also gives you the opportunity to put the C on Selwood, which isn't a bad option, either!
Crouch/O'Meara ---> Selwood/Redfern leaves you $319,800 for upgrades next week. If you use Prudden it lowers to $306,500. Prudden is slightly better than Redfern for loopholing purposes.
In the last round it would depend on who might get rested etc as to what changes you made, but $300k makes those changes very easy!
Good luck! :)

Hey Rowsus. Back again for some words of wisdom! I have posted this in the trade thread.....(sorry, I couldn't change the font colour on the iPad).

Hi all. In need of some advice to give me the best chance of winning this week and progressing to my first GF.

I have 1 trade and $235K in the bank. The current match ups with my opponent are (my players listed first):

Def

Shaw, Dixon (Webster) VS Ibbotson, Staker (I have him fwd), Pittard
*my opponent will have a donut in defence with Ibbotson (we both have Heppell)

Mid

Cotchin, Jack, JPK, Priddis (K Martin) VS Jelwood, Barlow, Fyfe, O'Meara (Wines)
*both have Mitchell

Ruck

Maric, (Grundy, Currie) VS Jacobs (Blicavs, Nicholls)

Fwd

Rocky, Pav (Staker, Rowe) VS Stokes, Tippett (R Henderson, Cordy)

We will both be copping a donut in defence and I am happy not to trade if I think I can beat him in the other areas. He has no trades left.

Last week I was lucky enough to be able to see both Grundy's and Priddis's scores and did a bit of shuffling to avoid using my last trade. I took Grundy's 93 and switched Cox forward, therefore benching JJK (worked well). I also took Priddis's 88 over trading Mitchell.

I am wondering what similar options I have this week. It's not looking as good as last week as the Pies and Eagles play tonight. I am also wondering if I should play it safe and field the same players - i.e. play JJK. Or do I take a risk and play Grundy on field and move Cox forward again, therefore having JJK and Staker on the bench.

Obviously my goal is to win this week, but if I can do that and still hold onto my last trade that would be even better!

Any help is much appreciated. My team link is provided. Cheers in advance!
