North Melb.
It's worth considering and if it doesn't look like working after 2 Rounds , correct it.

Is their room in North's forward line for Brown , Larkey , Wood & Xerri though ?

When is Brown due back ?
Risky if Xerri gets dropped though IMO .... one less cash generator ...
Brown is on track for R1 still as far as I know and Wood is always injured hah.
Is Xerri any riskier than other rookies if he plays well? I guess he could go if the coach wants structural changes/horses for courses approach.

So here is a question. Last few years we have seen the sole ruck dominate with chop outs provided by make shift big men. This has led to the rise of big ruck scorers like Grundy and Gawn. But has the wheel started to turn and we will see a lot more tandem setups this year?

Will Marshall share with Ryder. Lycett with Ladhams. Witts with Smith. ROB with Frampton. Even Goldy with Xerri. Grundy and Stef Martin seem to stand alone but some of these others might get help as the move goes to load sharing for reasons such as getting older or just as a way to maintain ruck strength during a game. Not sure what Melbourne would do with Gawn. I’m sure Preuss would be rucking with him if he was fit as I think Gawn’s body starts to show the scars of heavy rucking for season after season. Do not know how Weideman will go as ruck.

I know pre season games can be misleading but wondering if they are starting to show a trend back to a two man set up.

Just have to wait until Match 2 and see how he goes , if he performs again he will be hard to leave out , and if named Round 1 just needs to perform to hold his spot.

Soldo/Nank/Chol/CCJ for the Tigs, 2 of those should play every week.

There will be more due rucks if there is a talent there, however, preseason every year we see duo in partnership then it reverts to one. Preuss last year case in point, then didn't make 22.

Will likely be an issue for some, Stef needs a back up due to age, Marshall may lose some time as Ryder is best 22.

Marshall is a capable forward though so wouldn’t stress too much about his scoring

True, but you're not likely to see Chol and Balta manning the ruck for Richmond at any point this season either.

Nankervis was on the back end of 137, 145, 103 (English), 127 (Lobb), 106 (Martin) out of bugger all games so a Soldo and Nankervis are hardly a boot shaking combination to Supercoach rucks.

There is also true - I started Nank with the hope he might take another step up to being a serviceable 105+ ruck, but he was a huge disappointment.

Will be interesting to see if he can recapture some of his 2018 form - he did show flashes of being able to put up points quickly (there was one game I recall where he was on 9(?) points half way through the second quarter and ended up at 49(?) at half time) but it remains to be seen if he can return to being a competitive ruck again.

Imagine Richmond had a Grundy or Gawn type - my god! I'd probably take a break from footy for a few years.
