so very true , I still have nightmares

although once I brought back Goldy the second time (or maybe the third time) he did match Gawn in the second half of the season , albeit I think Gawn did miss a game ?

Starting English was just a warm up for future years , Mummy worked for 2-3 weeks , trying to remember if I had ROB actually onfield or not.

Eagerly will be watching the next Melbourne game to see how much game time they give Gawn.
I too started with English, but paired with Darcy

Finished the season with Grundy and ROB...was a long year

I must have started Goldy & English.

Traded English - > Mummy.

Might have traded Goldy - > ROB

And maybe Mummy - > back to Goldy.

Think Westhoff was even my R2 for a few weeks.

Good lord.

I should start the Smith Brothers this year , Zac & Nai based on that.

It's good to see so many teams with Naismith now. Hopefully means less competition!

Still running with Grundy/Gawn myself, may look at a "Gawn Gone" team again after this weekend though once I decide on the rest of my team to see how much changes. It didn't seem to make a massive improvement when I tried a no Gawn team last time, but with potential playing R3 cover it might look a bit better. Getting burnt by not starting Grundy last year may be clouding things a bit.
:eek::eek: - II can see Naismith team coaches starting to squirm

Quite positive re McHenry. Thanks for sharing.

All quite reasonable points re Naismith and Roberton. They will be key sliding doors types this year!
if hes in the side for jlt2 he should be a lock as Crows said fielding their ideal rd1 side which also includes confirmed McAsey for jlt2 so theres 2 to watch

Names will change, but a structure that I'm happy with.
Roberton would have been nice at D4, and may still be needed, but will deal with that if and when required.
Now, we just need Naismith to put in a solid performance...

Acres hammy strain today. I'm sure you've already swore and traded him

Cant seem to work away from the 5 premium midfield considering the amount of quality there is at the top and the amount of value at other ends, docherty is an upgrade target as i think he will be a slow starter and id like to see him go around a few times first and whitfield is over priced in my opinion, should definitely drop in price playing away so much at start of season
i just went with whitfield coz of the rd14 bye less worries

All Freo DEF Line

Ryan Blakely Cerra, Aish, Hill, Watson..... terrible for the BYE Round.....

Just Messing Around.
Well, Freo could be spending a good amount defending.

Just pick all GWS forwards to counterbalance.....Whitfield, Greene, Cameron, Finlayson, Himmelberg...... :)

I'm currently stuck with the idea of starting without 3 of the most popular picks in dusty, whitfield and docherty

Dusty historically starts the year slow and has been spending a lot of time forward with great success (not from a supercoach standpoint). I think he is still a must have but will bottom out and is a great trade target

Whitfield is purely from playing away a lot at start of season and being over-priced, definitely the one that could hurt the most but i see him hovering the mid to low 500k pricetag all year, 610k is too much compared too the players i can get in the mids for similar prices

And docherty has been out for 2 years and will almost definitely start slow and will almost definitely be managed through the year with his injury, thats if he avoids re-injuring.
He didnt injure it in afl intensity either time so i'd definitely rather watch him prove himself until to byes or reap the rewards when he starts slow and then misses a game early on

I feel like its too against the grain considering their ownership so would like some opinions please

I'm also nervous regarding Doc. I won't be starting him and might jump on as an upgrade if he gets back to his previous best, but too much risk for me to start with.
