Thanks Herbie ,

just hoping Fan Footy will do that through the normal season after all the talk earlier about the non posting of SC live scores

I've heard Lynden Dunne from the pies is really trying for that defensive spot and i just question imo Nobles JS if both Scharenberg and Dunne come back into that defence along with Crisp , Howe , Mayne , Roughhead etc , he has in his favour i guess that Buckley loves him , just food for thought
Do you (or anyone else) know how to get the live scores from HS? I had SC Gold last season and they weren’t included. Do you need a HS subscription?

Hi Bomber ,

I have a herald sun subscription and can't/couldn't get live scores again over the weekend.
They are stopping all the other sites that do live scores through court action or trying to , if i hear anything i will certainly keep u informed and vice versa.
If you noticed Fan Footy only updated at the end of each quarter , not through the quarter unfortunately.
Supercoach only give you live scores of players in your team , not the teams itself.
Hope that helped.

My first post-Marsh draft. Please rip in everyone - I'm starting somewhat from scratch. View attachment 16314
Nothing wrong with your onfield selections.

Dawson is debatable whether he finishes Top 8-10 defender or forward.

Mid bench might be a concern , but looks like I am in the minority over picking bench players that might play ?

Is Butts their to loop Noble ?

Just wait for teams now.

Dawson is the one I'm iffy on - but I like him as a Sicily from a couple of years ago.

Butts will loop with Noble, but think Noble will definitely start over him.

Mid bench is going to be a nightmare...

Dawson's starting price might not rise too much so he could be a wait and see.

Not sure if Butts plays at all , so might be better off finding someone that plays and put them on the bench.

Mid bench is actually quite easy , just need to set it up correctly ?

This is probably the best Gawn side I have seen, you have squeezed every dollar possible to get 14 keepers + Roberton. I see Steven has sneaked in, potentially for the first time all preseason? Looks like everyone is now jumping on board.

If we don’t end up getting Budarick, I presume your move would be Roberton down to Noble and then maybe pushing Budarick to a Davis/Crocker.

What’s your plan if Robertson/Sharp/Mahony don’t play? Starting two donuts there or chopping TLynch down and maybe getting Anderson?

Also you will be reliant on one of TWatson/BWilliams playing, I guess if they don’t you will need to chop a premium to take one of those up to say ZGuthrie/Noble or start BWilliams type as a donut.
Cheers Bomber, appreciate your praise.

Yeah have to admit this is the first time I've had Steven in my team since early January, didn't expect him to play like he did and given his cheaper price, good bye and the uncertainties around the other midpriced players I feel like he is now worth picking. You were definitely ahead of everybody else in thinking he was a good pick.

I'm also thinking of bringing in Noble for McAsey because given I'm paying so much for the player I feel like I might pick a player slightly more expensive who is more of a genuine cash cow. To do this I've downgraded Macrae to Dunkley, most likely to your dismay ;). I can then put him on field over Brander and have moved Brander forward, moved Budarick to midfield and moved Bailey Williams into the D bench. I have got rid of Sharp but hope either he or Budarick play in round 1. I think if Devon Robertson doesn't play I might just pick Mitchell Hibberd in his place and hope he eventually gets games. If two players miss it might cause even more headaches and I’ll try to pick a more expensive rookie who I hope might play as not doing this might run the risk of donuts. Doing Houston to Cumming to facilitate that or even moving down to a Yeo/Zerrett/Cogs at M5 whilst keeping Oliver at M4 are other options.

I’m also annoyed I can’t start Cumming as I think he’d be a more genuinely decent D5 who would make cash but the only way I can currently facilitate it is to trade Macrae to Yeo instead of Dunkley, which I’m not sure about.

tbh they should put Roughead fwd/ruck in that case and have Dunn,Moore,Howe,Noble,Maynard and Crisp/Mayne swapping wing/back/bench

Sounds like you've got all bases covered and have got some good plans in place whatever the Thursday teams throw! The Zerrett type at M5 is an interesting option. Truth be told, I have Laird in some of my iterations but after our discussions on Laird v Houston in the defender thread, I'm thinking Houston over Laird isn't a bad compromise if I need the slightly extra cash. It does create the donut risk that I was trying to avoid but if Starcevich comes up as a surprise rookie option, it might help allievate that donut risk I was concerned about. So I'm less hesitant on Houston than before.

Maybe I'm wrong on Dunkley, I have seen some good coaches taking him. I generally avoid his type though so I will stay strong. It's mainly the Neale v Oliver XY that I'm struggling with. Desparetely wanted Neale for more certainty but Oliver provides very useful cash for rookies.

Interesting to hear that you are so keen on Cummings though. I think he's a massive red herring with ZWilliams to come in. If he was cheaper, I wouldn't mind taking the punt but at 245k, he really needs better JS in my view.

You've just reminded me of the tweet you linked last night with that spreadsheet of CBAs and Wing attendances I glanced at before going to sleep. It was Oliver and his CBAs between the first Marsh series without Brayshaw and the second Marsh gave with Brayshaw. I took Oliver out but need to have a closer look at this.

The Laird vs Houston debate is interesting, I definitely prefer Laird over both Sicily and Houston but replacing him with one of these other players has always seemed like the easiest way to save money with my team. I only hope Houston has a few detractors before round one. Starcevich will probably be named for round 1 in my opinion, I think he's done enough in preseason to show he's ahead of some of the lesser types in Brisbane's first team. I would also think Robertson is an ok chance to debut given he attended a whopping 13 centre bounces on the weekend.

I'm not as Keane on Neale as some others have been given he averaged 115 from rounds 5-23 which included the 190 game against Richmond. I think when he started receiving a lot of attention from opposition taggers his scores sometimes took a hit. Definitely expect him to be a top 6 player but I think there is better value elsewhere. Could be in for a severe early burn if I don't start him though as he can go ballistic in games where he isn't tagged. I don't feel the same way about Dunkley as I did a few weeks ago but he was still the midfielder I wanted to pick outside of the 5 guys I was picking so if I needed to save money he was always a fair chance to come in to replace Macrae. Just need a bit of luck regarding role and who Libba affects when he comes back in, as we saw in the 1st half of last year, he also had a big impact on Macrae.

Definitely a concern with Williams coming back for Cumming, but he put up that score on the weekend with Whitfield in the team playing Williams role. He put up a 90 and a 69 in his last 2 games playing half-back last year with the game in the middle being the one where he tagged Brodie Smith. I think those two scores combined with his two preseason scores and his NEAFL form suggest to me that he can average 75 as a defender, but there's always a risk involved in more expensive players. But I agree it's not worth dropping Dunkley to Yeo just to get him and Noble has decent scoring potential if he can fix his kicking and improve his SC : DT ratio.

Tbh Gws should keep both Ash and Cumming in for that dash off halfback which williams wont be needed to do and have williams as that Xfactor midfielder than having similar type in Green/hately and Ward when hes back

Very interesting to see my first draft from December and my current team. I've come full circle and have most of the same picks. Notable changes include:
Williams -> Sicily, Doedee ->Roberton, Macrae -> Josh Kelly, Zerrett -> Danger, Whitfield -> Dusty & Heeney -> Jack Steven

i like it other than there is 2 rd 11 bye players in it that could get u closer to 1-2 donuts
I plan on trading Roberton out to another premium before his bye, so it's just Houston with that bye, hopefully he can be covered.

If at some point in time I will not be able to view/review any SC scores on full team lists during/after the games except by paying the Herald Sun, that will be my time in Fantasy coaching done. No if's or buts. Hope that it doesn't occur.

I am going laird over Houston he was running with bont for a half so im scared he will have alot more 70 games than i initially anticipated
Yeah he does a bit of a tag and did this last year on a few players, but still usually scored well regardless. He tagged TKelly pretty well in a game. He's more of a run with player when he plays that role than a tagger though, more like Harmes or Ed Curnow, so not a pure negator.

Thanks FT for the response! That's interesting to know... pity they make it so hard.
