Strategy if season goes ahead

There seems to be a lack of data on impact on young people. Whilst no/minimal chance of mortality, what is the % that moves from a cold to pneumonia for someone 20-30 years old. If the latter is above a few %, expect they cancel the early part of the season.
I think you're misreading the situation here - the mortality rate for people who are younger and healthy is appearing to be very low, so that has precisely nothing to do with it. The goal is impeding the spread of the disease so that any significant outbreaks are contained locally as much as they possibly can, allowing the virus can run its course without spreading further afield.

Remember that in the end everyone in football is an employee and the league cant take on any risk of the virus gaining a foothold in the AFL community and potentially having their employees unknowingly spreading the disease to the more vulnerable members of the community. If a club or league official or a player is found to have COVID-19 then it would not surprise me at all to see the club to shut up shop and go into quarantine and the league to perhaps follow suit follow shortly thereafter.

I understand that. You are minimising because of war triage though (hospitals capacity is exceeded) and elongating the cycle with lower ceiling of infected people, not to kill it off as that is not possible. SARS lasted for 2.5 years. This is why markets are tanking and stimulus programs being announced, as we are potentially moving into a prolonged recession under the current strategies. Hopefully the panic passes after 4-8 weeks.

The main point of the post is a strategy is if it goes ahead. As mentioned, trying to minimise views and opinions.

If anything should be shut down, then it's public transport. I was a train driver for 30 years and the packing of people on all forms of transport meant that people were and are exposed to high levels of contagious risk. If governments are serious about this then that close proximity situation should be highest on the agenda.

Earth is a living being that like any other being, attempts to regulate for its own health. We and all other forms of life here are reliant on her or him. Through history viruses and if you like, natural disasters, ice ages and much more have been widespread. The Earth..Gaia, our home, has a clear message for me.

I presume you've posted this in jest, but just in case I've got the wrong impression then I'm pretty sure that, if the situation actually gets bad enough to cancel AFL matches for 4-8 weeks, fantasy football will be the very least of everyone's worries.
Yeah, certainly more important things to worry about.

If I was a betting man, I would put my money on the AFL cancelling matches this year. I'm really not worried about what will happen to Supercoach, as I/we have no control. Que sera sera.

Anyone against Richmond, with their gamestyle, they just don't care how many possesions the oppo rack up.
A sneaky fact - Grundy has never scored a rd1 SC 100.
Yeah I've been watching Richmonds numbers across the board and there's nothing special there, amazing. Whilst if you look at a couple of other clubs pre-season numbers there's some huge disposal counts amongst them.

If it was going to happen regarding Grundy you would think it would be this season, his last 2 scores against WBD were 174 and 160, 152 the game before that. Handy last 3 game average against the dogs.

Definitely wasn’t a prediction. Just remember being (relatively) burnt rd1 last year, but yeah hard to go past Grundy if needed. Would be handy having Gawn as a captain option for rd1...;)

Now I sit up and take notice.

Not starting Gawn then ?

Are you worried about starting both Houston and Roberton due to round 11 bye and changes due to China game cancellation?
Personally I'm not. Houston is DPP, so can be swung into the mids, and Roberton will likely have been traded by then in any case as I see it. If he's worth keeping after that point, he's probably been a very successful pick and I'm well ahead on that leg at a minimum.

To me the response to Houston's bye change seemed quite disproportionate, given the impact basically has to be under 100 points as I see it, and he seemed to go from a lock for many to being completely ruled out.

I hope no matches cancelled. I will struggle sans sport - think we all will.

Speaking of struggling.

I woke up and some wine goblins changed my team and structure last night to the following Gun(>500k), Mid-pricer(500k<x>250k), Rookie (<250k):

D: 2/1/5
M:5/0/6
R:0/2/1
F: 2/3/3

So that's 9 Guns, 6 Mid, and 15 Rookies... I mean, that sounds like a pretty silly structure, but then there is the possibility of a rookie drought, right? More Rookies, the less likely I will go with the mind-numbingly terrifying Ruck structure of 0/2/1

Also, if the strategy fails, it will cost me 4 trades after round 2 to bail out my ruck situation

Does losing Martin fix Jacobs/Naismith or maybe Nic Nat ?

or one of your D1 or D2 ?

Never really had Martin or seriously entertained past maybe an initial post maybe earlier - maybe even while under the influence??? But this setup, allows for a mostly pretty comfortable feeling. I look at defence, and give myself an inner nod of approval. Then the mids and I do the same. Then the Forwards - and oooooh - I like it a lot... Then I look at the rucks. And my stomach drops. It is like either I have small amounts of anxiety throughout the whole team with Gawndy, or just massive anxiety in the Rucks. Who knows what I'll end up with. Could be I am on a downward slide - I am certainly not the one to copy ideas from. At this stage, though, the thought of waiting another four weeks or more for the start of the season is kind of close to serious torture.

I guess it comes down to which line you are most happiest to go light in , at the moment that is my defence but who knows what will happen in the next few days.

Might end up having 1-2 games and then decide to postpone everything for a month or so anyway.

Highly probable the season will severely be impacted. Will players be rested? Could Naismith play 2 games in 7 days? Hand-cuff Jackson to Gawn? Could be some crazy curveballs coming

Truth be told I think a team infection will lead to the comp being called off

This is why we need a dislike button. ;-o

No sport to entertain the masses? What other pastimes will the human mind explore...
