Fair enough regarding the player meeting phone thing. I don't think the senior ones would be keen on playing at all, the younger ones may not care as much, perhaps the older ones with families etc will be more conservative about it. I just think there is no point to do this now. 17 minute quarters, no crowds, what's the point outside of trying to meet your contractual obligations with TV broadcasters (which they're not going to do anyway with a reduced season)?
I am seriously getting more and more confused by the minute.

Yesterday they wanted to fast track games , now they have taken 5/6 rounds off ?

Are they oblivious (naive or ignorant) to the fact that every other major sporting code has cancelled/suspended ?

We might get to Easter and they have to cancel or May to July and still cancel.

Surely with 4-6 teams flying each week (unless chartered flights) that exposes players , coaches , staff etc etc.

Can't lock them away.

Think they will look very foolish if in a week or 2 they then have to cancel/postpone.

Probably just need to come back.tonight and read all the media reports.

So if the first 4 Rounds are as fixtured (won't happen I reckon), what does the 17 minute quarter achieve?
He clarified that he was referring to keeping the same opponent and venue scheduled, not necessarily the dates scheduled for the first 4 rounds. Opponents after that would have to change as some teams aren't currently scheduled to play each other until rnd 23.

Wonder if they will stick with bye rounds
Can't see a split bye round so if they do itll have to b 1 entire week off after rd8-9 id say. I would rather see that 1 entire week off midseason now given the shortened season than having pre finals bye and that brings back the fittest and mentally strong finals series back.

17 games means there isn’t enough time to play everyone + finals. Be a few rounds where we play against 2 teams I reckon.

If it’s a 17 round season might as well start the season later, and hope by then the worst is passed by then

So are bye rounds gone? Would bring Houston back in as a starting pick.

It's almost too difficult to assess how this is going to affect SC. The AFL will probably get shut down at some point and I don't know if the SC system could handle an undefined fixture. I can really see SC just closing down the game after Round 4 with maybe a weekly comp set up instead.
I’d say absolutely they are gone.

The only part of the fixture locked in is R1-4

It could be true, but I haven't seen it. I haven't seen any price gouging here, but that doesn't mean it's not happening.
My wife and I have been given 2 weeks (possibly more to come) off work, on full pay. We are doing the right thing, and self quaranteening. We stay home, walk the dog twice a day, and go to the supermarket 2 to 3 times each week.
We're in day 3 of this, and it is beyond mind numbingly boring, but we accept it for what it is.

On a side note, anybody got any suggestions for good HBO or Netflix series?
We seem to have watched most of the good ones
!
HBO:
Boardwalk Empire
Curb Your Enthusiasm
Deadwood
Life’s Too Short
The Sopranos
The Wire
Veep

Netflix:
After Life
Arrested Development
Monty Python’s Flying Circus
Mystery Science Theater 3000
The Good Place
The Kominsky Method

Yeah, the intention was that the fixture of games for the first four rounds would be the same but the time/date they are played is not set in stone and of course subject to change. The fixture after the first four rounds would change once they had a chance to rejig it

Gawn, Oliver and Danger still have a bad start. Trade in targets.
