Not sure if anyone has been following US Survivor 40: Winners at War but that was probably the best episode by far this season at least for me.

I watched it. It was OK, but Tony got way too much screen time. They really should have evened the edit out at least a bit.

But there was no way around it. Tony was crucial in everything that happened. Being able to find an idol, being able to hustle ppl to give him fire tokens so that he could render the extortion advantage useless which then let him compete in the immunity challenge and in turn win it. This gave him the chance to then control the vote. Which part would you have edited out though? I didn't see any besides that stupid catwalk part which had nothing to do with Tony.

Fair call. Would have liked to hear a bit from some of the others too, probably a bit spoiled with the AUS version being longer episodes.

We have a King of Survivor now! The most deserving player wins it. Would have quit watching Survivor had someone from Extinction won it again.

I got spoiled on who won from someone in the US which put a bit of a dampener on the finale for me. It was a deserving winner at least, if I hadn't already known who won I probably would have thought a female ended up winning based on most of the final episode.

Not the best season of the ones I have seen, but definitely better than any other US versions of the last few years.

North Melb.
Has there been a worse remake of a movie or tv series than Charlie and the Chocolate Factory starring Johnny Depp?

It's like they took out all the good lines and good songs and replaced them with costumes and cgi.

Seeing my first ad for the next Aus survivor. Happy days, still one of my favourites.

Gavin Wanganeen one of the contestants.

Edit - Just realised it will probably take over Masterchefs timeslot, and there is still like 12 odd MChef contestants left, meaning we probably have 2 months of ads for Survivor before it starts - Boo!!!!

Not quite, it will start on July 18. The theme is Brains v Brawn. You might be surprised which tribe Gavin is on...

...Brawn. :)

Excited for any survivor season atm. A bit disppointed they didn't add a beauty tribe as this would have been almost the perfect way to introduce a final 3. Still not a fan of a final 2.

If they continue to go the Aussie way for challengers the the brawn tribe will dominate. If they add more puzzles like the US then it'll balance out. But from the previous Aussie seasons, challenges will probably likely remain mostly physical in nature.

They answer why there was no Beauty tribe in this article (no major spoilers):

I knew I wouldn't like a politician, but damn George is annoying. Can't see him sticking around at least, he has just put a massive target on himself by playing that advantage. Phil probably wasn't sticking around for long anyway, expected he would be an early vote out.

As expected, these challenges favour the Brawn tribe, I was a bit surprised the Brains led the immunity challenge, switching their shooter when they did was stupid, unless he was absolutely stuffed.

Mitch the Doctor at Tribal said he had Plan A and Plan B was George; so I reckon George knew he would be number 2 to be gone from the tribe, hence playing the advantage to save Wai, whom he would hope would be a number on his side henceforth was probably his only real play.

Hard to see him surviving, and yes he is darn annoying!! Although saying that it would probably have been a boring tribal otherwise.

The first reward challenge was great. Definitely balanced out. Love puzzles like these. However very embarrassing that the brains tribe couldn't figure out a slide puzzle.

The 2nd challenge was 100% catered to physicality which is a darn shame. If it continues, the brains tribe will just be picked off one by one. Really hope I'm wrong. Definitely will be going for the underdog in the brains tribe.

Great twist. However, George is a now a dead man walking. Think Pia Miranda also mentioned this but in Australian Survivor, if you make moves early, you're seen as a threat and you get voted out early. Very different from US Survivor where you can make moves early and still survive.

Makes for good television though if George stays on for awhile though. Would have been great if they could have shown George leveraging his advantage or gaining some support by revealing it to other tribe mates.

If there was ever a Heroes vs Villains, he'd definitely be the 2nd name I would put on the Villains tribe. (The Golden God David Genat definitely the no.1 villain lol.)

I think the best play for George might have been to let Wai know she's going to get voted out by everyone and then given her the advantage so she could save herself if he wanted to save her. Keeps the focus off him, and also likely makes an ally.

It'll be interesting to see if there is a similar advantage on the Brawn tribe, but I wouldn't be surprised if they don't need it for at least a couple of trials.

Polictican George saying he could have beaten AFL Legend Gavin Wanganeen in a tackle.

Loved it when George wanted Baden's thoughts on bull**** and then Baden tells him all about it. :ROFLMAO:
