I'm guessing they didn't have a hit song? There are so many good musicians and bands, but to be 'famous' they need a hit song.
No mainstream hits for these guys, lol... The Metal Supergroup just didn't take off like it should have.
It was Drummer Mike Portnoy's (Dream Theater) first project after finishing up fill-in duties for metal band Avenged Sevenfold. He helped create Adrenaline Mob along with singer Russell Allen (Symphony X) & guitarist Mike Orlando. But it failed to really take off despite the high profile names associated with the band. Bassist John Moyer (Disturbed) & Drummer A.J. Pero (Twisted Sister) would also later become members but tragedy surrounded this band with A.J. Pero dying on tour in 2015 of a heart attack, and then bassist David Zablidowsky dying in an accident when the bands RV was hit by a truck on tour in 2017, also seriously hurting other band members.
Portnoy who was good mates with A.J. Pero would then be asked to fill-in for Pero on drums for Twisted Sister's Final Farewell tour in 2016.
Still enjoy listening to their albums though despite their lack of mainstream success.
