I have also just recently discovered in the last few weeks this guy, Leland Sklar... He is the bass player on the original recording and Phil's long time touring bass player. Have really enjoyed watching him tell his stories and perform the songs on bass. His discography is incredible.

Nice song. They have a bit of ‘Boy and Bear’ sound to them ... I might play one of theirs if timing of a letter permits!
I really enjoyed Boy and Bear’s Moonfire, although didn’t get into their next two albums as much.

I’ve just read on Wiki that they took a four year hiatus and released a new album late last year ... has anyone heard it?

Listened to this song and album a lot in the late 90's...

Follow The Leader is such a great album. I remember swapping one of my trance compilations with a kid at school for his Follow The Leader album. He then asked for it back a little while later but I politely declined. A deal’s a deal!

Yeah it certainly is, I don't listen to as often as I used to but back in the day it was was on very heavy rotation.

Love Alt-J. One of my favourite bands. Have been meaning to post some of their songs but the letters get snapped up so quick sometimes! ?
Hehe - it’s the quick and the dead at certain times of the day! :p

One thing that I have found interesting over the last 10 years or so seems to be a result of changes in the way that people consume music.

I used to listen to a lot of radio, and obviously that helps keep you up to date music-wise, and the songs you hear are usually the big ones that are released as singles.

In recent years I almost never listen to the radio (largely because I don’t drive since relocating to Sydney), so when I come across a band that’s of interest, I usually buy their album and listen to it top to bottom.

Often I find that the songs I like aren’t the ones that have been released as singles. I don’t think I have particularly unusual taste, I think it’s more that certain acts don’t seem to be great at identifying which songs people will like (which seems very strange to me!). Some seem to be “worse” at this than others.

As an example, I think that Dissolve Me is the best song on Alt-J’s first album ... but it was only their 7th single from that album, is the only one without its own Wiki page, and seemingly wasn’t even released as a single in some markets!
