Lobbe is only 23?
Now on my list for 2014

Definantly want ddp.

Not sure if I want cox again.
R1 minson R2 hmac/kruz/sandi

i am a grundy fan and he did only play 6 games but his highest score was 93. Not the stats you wanna see from your r2.
There will be improvement so maybe a little harsh.
Nic nat fwd for mine with r4 dpp rookie

potential breakout:

Wonder if the new rotation rules would change the Ruck setups for next year. Maybe Currie can now play alongside Goldstein as Ruck-Forward tandems.

I think you will find that there was discussion mid season about why north were not finishing games off well and one of the ideas was that they used the interchange a lot less than other teams so tired late. The main concern was that Goldstein was playing a large % of games, so I don't think the new rule will effect north a great deal

Hudson going round again. If at rookie price might be worth putting in at R3/4. Injury to Grundy would mean Hudson will play alot.

Hudson played 7 games at an average of 85.

He won't be rookie priced.

He will be priced accordingly probably in the 450k ish mark I would think.

Yes. Maybe some sort of discount comes into play for not playing many games. 20%, maybe 30% at best. I'm not 100% sure on how this rule applies, someone here surely does though!

Not sure completely but he may get a discount for playing less than 9 games.

I doubt it will be any more than 10%-20%.

Either way his ave of 85 in his 7 games is going to mean he will be 400k +.

No way will he be rookie priced.

Anyone considering Sam Jacobs from Adelaide or Ivan Maric, they both averaged 100+in 2012, so could be worth getting on.

Had Sauce the whole year (not by choice) and was without doubt one of the most frustrating experiences in my sc life..yes sc life lol. On my never again list but Maric would be one I'd consider.

How about Mummy? Finished the year with a bang averaging 116.5 in his last 6...or Mike Pyke???? :D

Worry for GWS premiums is that if they get smashed next year, their scoring will be low.
Pyke could be the breakout ruckman next year.

I will be steering clear of maric. Yes great value but with hampson going there, surely they are trying to lighten the load on him in the ruck. I had sauce 2 years ago and was awesome so my judgement may be clouded.

I am starting to lean to Minson. Yes highest priced ruck but with the new interchange rule, he will be on the ground more and could even go better???

Gotta agree with you there, has breakout written all over him. Coming into his 6th season and 4th fullish season, assuming he rucks most of the time 100 average every possibility.

Yes that's true. Struggled big time with his groin last year so I think that's pretty likely to happen. I had sauce the year before as well, shame he didn't back it up last year :(

Ruck choices i think will play a huge part next year. Minson/Goldy feels safe as houses whereas others will be chasing value to gain. I like Kreuzer/Berger but feel like too much can go wrong so I doubt I'll run with that so maybe Minson/Goldy then HMac/Grundy or some R/F combo.

The fact that North have so far kept Currie hints that he might get a game sometime next year.. Surely he has huge currency at the trade table?
There was talk earlier this year of Goldstein having too big of a load, so I would stay away from Goldstein next year if there is more talk on the issue or we see a different strategy in the preseason games..

Do the Dogs have a backup ruck option?

I'm seeing a lot of value in the Rucks with the likes of Sandilands as well as HMac (261k & 115k as finals prices). If they get some preseason form, I would probably go with them both in R1 & R2 with the plans of upgrading at least one of them to a Minson type as a trading priority. Also with Nicnat backing up in the forwards, it might just be adequate!

Goldy and minson is a big investment, I will create my team around them and most probably downgrade one to a discounted type to fit under the 10 mill.

McEvoy, Maric and Sauce all felt safe as houses after their 2012 seasons, all with little internal competition from back-up ruckmen, yet fell away in 2013. Perhaps the workload is too much to sustain before injury niggles set in? Minson and Goldy could be in the same boat - both with little back-up support, as supported by traceygrims' comment:

Pyke perhaps fits the mould of a ruckman who will be coming off a shared workload in 2013 and going into a 2014 where he will be needed to shoulder the ruckload a lot more. As IDIG said:

I also see a lot of value in the Rucks. Sandilands, though injury prone, finished the season well. Hopefully this will lead to a solid preseason where he can get his body in better shape. Hmac doesn't have a good history of games played per season - selecting him might hinge on pre-season form. Grundy should see more game time and be value-priced. Then we have NicNat sitting in the Fwds. McBean and Currie should get a good run at some stage, so there's plenty of value on offer here.

Personally I think there's too much value on offer to go with Minson and Goldy, who are unlikely to go much better in 2014, and are likely to go down in value and scores as their 2013 workloads take their toll.
