Bennell (1) , Brown (4) , Rivers (2)

KPP (2) , Mahony (1)

will need to get very creative

Thoughts on how Stephen Hill looked? i didn't see the game... Was his speed and disposal still there - I am seriously considering Howe to Hill for some money.
He looked good in the first quarter, but most of his points came from intercepts. Not much in the way of run or metres gained.
His score dropped off badly after that and I'm pretty sure his TOG did too. Not overly encouraging on the whole. I won't go so far as to say he's cooked, but he was completely invisible for most of the match at at the very least can't be close to full fitness (or whatever his equivalent is).

Just looked at Picketts numbers against the Cats 10 disposals, 9 CP, 3 clearances, 3 tackles.
Good signs just needs to add a few marks, not give away 2FA and improve on 1 behind. Can see a few big games from him.

Round 4 Newbies

Hill 73
Serong 71
Xerri 54
Hannan 52
Mahony 50
Butler 49
Jones 34
Philp 32
McAdam 26
Doesn't fill you with confidence really.

Of that bunch I'm thinking Serong is the best bet, almost a necessity if I go down the route of holding Fyfe (need more mid bench options who can score 70s).

It really is quite amazing that by the end of Round 5 Rowell will likely be worth more than guys like Coniglio and Yeo.
Currently averaging 142 since the resumption
Rowell is now 5th overall and 2nd best mid behind only Neale. How about that for 4 games of AFL?

Who would have thought the top 3 mids after 4 rounds would be Neale, Rowell and Simpkin?

I guess the reward/risk one is Hill , but assume he would get time managed.

Does he string enough games together to make $$$ or could be useful cover late in the season although most by then would have traded Brander so the swing would have gone.

Serong could benefit with Fyfe being out , maybe.

Xerri could be useful if he plays enough.

I already have Mahony.

Will bypass then all though and just replace Fyfe & Stewart this week.

Might end up better than Haydn Bunton SNR.

I like the forward average , Dan Butler is averaging more than Heeney , Martin & Whitfield.

funny season

I think we can wait another week on Hill (for a second look) as not predicted to go up that much this round.

Reckon Bailey Williams might be in line for a debut this week.

Hickey was poor on the weekend and offered nothing for us, Simmo is also on record as saying Allen backing up Nic Nat wasn't working either... So someone has to back up Nic Nat this week, might as well be the youngster Williams and it would bring some excitement and energy to a squad lacking it lately.

Daresay an introduction against Sinclair and McLean is probably not a bad introduction to start a ruck career either... not going to get monstered by either of those guys....
