I said it a few months back but I’ll say it again here, Rankine is by far the best teenager I have ever seen play footy. Ive been lucky enough to see him play a lot of footy over the last felw years and I can’t think of anyone that even comes close. Zero chance he doesn’t go to GC if the blues pass over him. Will put bums in seats for the next 15 years and lord knows they need it.
I always remember this post about Rankine.

Only my opinion.

Dom Sheed is a very good mid but also not considered one of the best at West Coast. Gets more opportunity only when someone else is missing. Still only 25. I'm sure there are plenty of other clubs that would consider him a permanent mid.
He'd be great in the Midfield full time but it's hard trying to fit all of Shuey, Yeo, Kelly, Gaff, Sheed & Redden in there... Sheed & Redden are the two that have been pushed out and have become part-time mids. Kelly's unexpected arrival hurt his midfield minutes.

He's really knows how to hunt the footy, so I'm sure he's a little disappointed in his reduced midfield role. But he's a crucial part of the rotation though, and as evidenced on Grand Final Day 2018... He knows how to go forward and kick a big goal.

But you are right, at a lot of other clubs he'd definitely be a permanent mid.

The Shuey injury v the crows may actually turn out to be a weird blessing in that Sheed going into the middle made him much more effective along with Redden/Yeo stepping up & Kelly last week showing why we wanted him so badly. It also helped helped Kelly that Gaff as tagged by Keays last week, in other games he was the main tag target. That is the beauty of having so many gun mids, can't tag them all so it allows some to get off the chain.

When Shuey is fit, it will be interesting to see what Simmo & the coaches do with the midfield makeup. I would like to see Shuey moved to a more outside role with Sheed staying on the inside - Shuey is a lot more damaging on the outside than Sheed with his kicking skills on both sides/ has the pace to break lines & makes good decisions generally.

Can see your argument. But when fully fit... I like Shuey best on the inside. He has really good chemistry with Nic Nat and the Nic Nat tap down to a slashing Shuey is something I'd rather not lose by playing Shuey on the outside. Kelly and Yeo are also capable of that, But Kelly is still trying to build that chemistry, and Yeo plays a bit more defensive lately.

But it's a nice problem to have for sure trying to get the best out of all of them.

Could go to GC, Blues, North or Hawks. Pending reduced terms, say $650-$700k
God I hope he doesn't come to the Hawks.

I'm not sure clubs will be willing to throw anywhere near as much money at him as he probably had floated in front of him last year.
Also cannot see the Suns going after him this year, no need. Much better options already on their list now, plus they have a big bodied midfield in their academy this year that they will snap up who is rated as a top end talent.

I think North would offer the better deal. Probably better suited at Carlton as they going the better direction.
North also has 2 first round picks this year after aquiring Melbournes this year and their own.

North are like a desparate date on a Sat night that has been stood up. Hope they don't go for BCrouch, they need quality not another clogger.

Yeh I would be throwing all the money at Darcy Moore and Jeremy Cameron and try to do it without using both of their first round picks this year.
