Finally got myself caught up with the Stingers round reviews in the Tapatalk thread. Feels good. It's a great way to look back at the end of the season, and seasons later,

Goodie's Giants FC has a pretty cool way of doing it as well.
Quality content Ken! Love it.

Not loving some of the performances being dished up by my players though...:mad:

Not as bad as playing BKing over Rankine, he was stiff not to even get the emergency spot!
The Darkness got caught up with team selections, and forgot that Zach Tuohy was on the list and materially better than Noble, who wasn't even selected.

Tuohy cracked it and requested a trade almost immediately.

The TailsPower team is in the market for a playing M/D or M/F DPP player this week .....

If you have any on offer send me a PM .... sorta have a shortlist (at least 4 players) and still plenty of Salary Cap and Contract Years up my sleeve ...

- Initially looking at players from @Goodie's Guns, @Deeman1 and @Philzsay teams .... ;) ... but am open to all considerations !!

WHO IS a chance to play in round six?

In this week's In the Mix, brought to you by the Toyota WorkHorse Range, we find the players who are giving their selectors plenty of food for thought.

Who's going out, who's sore, who is under the pump? Our reporters attempt to pick all the R6 ins. Check it out.

The only concerns stemming from last weekends loss to the Jabukanji Stingers was the minor injury to vice captain Patrick Cripps (shoulder), although scans have cleared the superstar of any significant damage and he should be fine to take his place against the Arcadia Timelords. Tim Taranto seems likely to make his return to the top level should come straight in for his Giants debut, being a welcome addition to midfield. Wayne Milera remains on the sidelines for at least another 5 - 6 weeks with a foot injury. After an extremely impressive debut, Will Day retains his place with Riley Bonner likely to remain on standby. Jay Lockhart is under pressure to keep his spot with a string of below par performances in recent weeks, whilst Billy Frampton and Lachlan Schultz were impressive in the scratch match last week and continue to press for senior selection. Darcy Fogarty is at least another week away with his shoulder injury.

Verdict: Not like-for-like, but Taranto in for Lockhart the only change, with Smith or Rowbottom to move forward. - Marc McGowan

The Timelords will be taking their time to assess Sean Darcy after his concussion in last weeks win over the Rangers. With back up ruckman Jonathon Patton suffering a hamstring setback in the scratch match, young ruckman Hayden McLean may be called upon to support Nic Naitanui in minimising the Giants Brodie Grundy’s dominance. Isaac Quaynor is pressing his claims for inclusion, however, Callum Wilkie or Mark O’Connor would be unlucky to lose their place after impressive debuts. Brayden Fiorini struggled in his return to the team last week, and could come under pressure for his place.
Verdict: Whilst the Timelords will give Sean Darcy every opportunity to recover, they will not risk him if there are any doubts. They are unlikely to make any unforced changes after their impressive win last week. – Michael Whiting

In order to help facilitate trades for the next 4 rounds, the trade deadline will extend as follows"

TRADE DEADLINE
  • 7:00pm Wednesday for players in Thursday teams.
  • 7:00pm Thursday for players in Friday+ teams.

We will continue to monitor the fixture and make adjustments where appropriate.

If you've got any trades in the wings and more time this week would help, shout out and we will see if we can't extend the timeline a little given the late announcement.

Round 6 Team Selection

An injury crisis has struck the ladder leaders, with half of the Jet's first choice midfield currently unavailable. After going down early in last weeks match, the medical team had been hopeful that Mitch Duncan would recover from his hamstring complaint in time for Sunday's clash with the Knights. However the seven day turn around proved too much with the club opting to take a conservative approach with the gun midfielder, who has arguably been the teams best performer through the early rounds. Duncan joins fellow stars Josh Dunkley and Dion Prestia on the sidelines, both of whom are rehabbing syndesmosis injuries. First choice reserve Jed Anderson has also failed to recover from a quad injury which forced him to be a late withdrawal in Round 5.

To make matters worse, the in form Dylan Shiel will also miss the next two weeks after failing to overturn a suspension for his bump on young Stinger Curtis Taylor. Jets coach Jordan had been quietly confident of at least reducing the ban to one game, and was not shy in voicing his disappointment with the decision.

"We think the decision is a farce quite frankly. There was absolutely no malicious intent from Dylan, and young Taylor not only played out the game but was given the all clear in the medical report and will play again this week."

"Something just smells a bit off to me when you get a controversial decision like this involving a player from the Commissioners team. It wouldn't surprise me at all if the tribunal members were in Ken's pocket. A free weekend up at the resort over summer and Bob's your uncle."

The Jets will rely on their impressive depth to cover the losses, with regular forwards Patrick Lipinski and Kyle Langford to run through the middle. Tom Lynch was held out of last weeks match with concerns around his hand injury, however the Jet's will have no such luxury this round with the big man set to play through the pain. Darcy Macpherson's poor form has seen him omitted, with Shai Bolton taking his place. Tom Phillips retains his spot after being a late inclusion for Anderson last week, while exciting youngster Caleb Serong will make his debut.

OUT: Duncan (Injured), Shiel (Suspended), Macpherson (Omitted)
IN: Lynch, Bolton, Serong (Debut)

Mixed night for the Immortals tonight....

Positive:
- De Goey finally delivers an out of the box game that I have been waiting for!!

Negatives:
- VC Joel Selwood injured early
- Stephenson does bugger all
- Jordan Clark, not selected for the Immortals this week, however starts to look good, but then dislocates his shoulder!

Goodie's Giants FC

As predicted by Marc McGowan in this week's In the Mix, Goodie's Giants FC will make just the one change ahead of a do-or-die contest against the Arcadia Timelords, with midfielder Tim Taranto making his long awaited debut for the club. Taranto has been cleared of the shoulder injury he suffered in the preseason which saw the star midfielder miss the past five matches. Forward Jay Lockhart has been omitted after a couple of quiet weeks, with Bailey Smith expected to spend more time forward. Lockhart replaces Billy Frampton as a emergency.

IN: Tim Taranto (Debut)
OUT: Jay Lockhart (Omitted)
