If the rationale for funding AFL games is visitation from Victoria what does Tassie get from hosting games in 2020. A hub model for 6 teams could bring in decent hotel numbers for 4-5 weeks but I don’t know whether the revenue outweighs the costs, aside from the fly in/fly out risks.
A 6 team hub works well early in the fixture but beyond round 12 teams will either need to be in 1 or 2 large hubs and flying between them due to the play everyone once constraints. Hence why Queensland/WA and flyin/out to NSW and SA should remain while those states are safe to play in. Keep it simple.
A one off game in the NT could make sense but may also be hype, we will see.
