Did T.Brown to Simpson Thursday night.
Pittonet to Rankine this morning.. if Fort would've had a good score, I would've went Pitt to Day (as I really like the look of him).. hopefully it works in my favour.. Fort ready to turn into a Premo next week.. has been a good selection for my team and done his job.

The issue is Brisbane play at 1:45
Yes I'm in the same predicament - not sure whether to take a chance or not tbh. Another option is to trade Rivers but that will make an upgrade harder next week and still not guaranteed McPherson will get a gig going forward. What are you going to do?

I have no idea to be honest , everything before was we have time to stretch the season to November & December even , but now it's like they have gone the opposite way and want to condense things.

I am not sure how they came up with the 33 games , personally I would have just played Round 9 or 10 as a split round giving all teams byes in them.

Time will tell.
I suspect that with the the lockdown in Victoria, and now increased activity in NSW, the AFL want to get this season over with before they lose any more states they can play in. Also I'm sure the AFLPA are pushing to reduce the time the players are away for home.

If we go down the BBL style format, I'm going to be in a world of hurt. I dabbled in BBL a couple of seasons ago, and my head nearly exploded.
My main problem was trying to nail down the ins & outs before each game.

50% success so far this round with my trades.
Rivers > Simpson
McQuillan > Rankine.

Leaves me with ~$300k for some upgrades next week

I think I’m going to pull the trigger mate. Tex seems to be confirmed in for Frampton and another must come in for Sloane. Can’t see the sense in dropping a first gamer, who was fairly decent, to bring in any of the others. You?

Still tossing it up - doing the numbers on trading Rivers and seeing if I have enough to go to B Smith next week with one trade. The potential change to best 18 is complicating things for me - holding Starc as a warm body may be less important and easier to carry a Rivers type. IOW I've no idea

Decided to clear Sturt and Cameron so I have more cover/warm bodies to Rankine and Simpson via Budarick. Hopefully Taylor can rise a little more. Can do a straight trade from Taylor to Bailey Smith next week.
Taylor's 15 will keep his price down so you won't get the rise for a while.

No idea if Tasmania is still on the table or not , talk they want to play the Dreamtime at the G in Darwin , so we might see some teams there and the Alice.

Channel 7 Adelaide keep say every day a hub is coming (I don't think so)

Big Bash is fun , you should have another crack at it.

OK I've decided to hang on to Starc and trade Rivers to McPherson if he gets named - Day is a good alternative as Peter56 pointed out but the JS/Clarko factor has me spooked.

I’m holding also, the fear of him not playing and not getting the cash injection is too much risk

Exactly. I am a bit surprised that we have known for days that it is (IIRC) 33 games in 19 days, but we don’t know what those games are.

Especially when 33 seems like a number that doesn’t have obvious logic behind it (ie it’s not 4 x 9, 3 x 9 or the like). My sense is that they have a specific plan in mind, they may just be dotting and crossing.
We won’t know the logic behind it but there will be media spin which may or may not reflect part of the truth. I suspect clubs know well before the public when matches are scheduled but it doesn’t get realeased until all boxes are ticked and there is free air in relation to media coverage.

My take is the hub model costs mega bucks and players don’t want to be there. It will be sped up as much as possible. 153 games shouldn’t be considered in terms of rounds and byes just matches that have to be played in any order constrained by a whole bunch of factors.

“Rounds 9 to 12” is really just rounds 9 to 11 with 6 extra games totalling 33 games. Teams are playing more not less so they aren’t really getting a bye/rest or an extra round (18) when in fact the season will be 1-2 weeks shorter. Many sports operate this way or postpone games for a variety of reasons.

If 3 days rest is the minimum some teams could potentially play 3 time in 9 days but most likely 1 short break will be followed by a slightly longer one. More teams gives greater flexibility to move games around to manage breaks. Ideally the would fixture the remaining games in a single block and adjust as required But with so many moving parts 4 weeks will be more than enough info to make informed choices. If they drip feed week by week that will be horrendous by all teams are in the same boat.
