All us non Gawn owners have to consider the same thing.

I am personally accepting I got it wrong when I didn't get him in a few weeks ago. Won't be playing the chasing points game and overpaying for what I think he will achieve from here.

Leaves two options - go another ruck or upgrade elsewhere. I am double upgrading elsewhere.

In both scenario's we can also dream of two down weeks and grab Gawn soon. I will even give Max a 5 game PB against Brisbane of 98!!
It’s a hard one for sure. He’s only $80,000 more than his starting price, which isn’t that much. However he happened to start at $700k! I think I might just bite the bullet and hope for 180 every week hahaha

What's Bailey Smith's BE?

Was going to get him this week but getting Starcevic off my field before he drops too much more is now my top priority. Hopefully Smith's BE is still highish after his 77 this week.

Rookie > Rookie (most likely Brander > McKay if he keeps his spot), Starcevic > Sicily.
Probably more important to get Smith with him making more than Starc losing.

Yes but I think with all the good rookies we've had eg Rowell ect there is more money than usual so we should almost be able to complete the teams with premos and missing Gawn would hurt imo.
He's only $80,000 over his starting price.
Most players drop well below their starting price at some stage. Buying $80k above may not be the best move unless you have a lot of funds. Consider whether 2-3 100-130 type scores will bring his price down by $50k or more.

I guess we have seen the crazy year that is 2020 so perhaps it is better to bring Max in and watch his recent form continue to the end of the season.

Thinking of going Budarick & Noble (I do worry about his JS) to B Smith & Sicily which would complete my backline.

Allows me to play Simpkin/Whitfield/ B Smith in the mids & move them forward once Taylor & Rankine have maxed out. Want to keep all my demon & bombers players with them already having their bye.

Leaves my team looking like this :-
How does your team look if you trade out McInerney and Brander instead ? Increasing player numbers this week could prevent Armageddon and provide throughout the following weeks.

Tom green, starcevich, brander, mcinerney or budarick

which 2 would you trade out?
not sure whether to trade out just because they will drop value when they are atleast playing

Looking at Hayden & Taylor to Zorko and a mid eligible cheap rookie so that i can move one of my M?F players forward.
ATM looking at Cahill from Essendon but know absolutely nothing about him.
I honestly don't know what Cahill's JS is like.. He hardly set the world on fire last week. I'd give him another week to see what his role is like :)

True but also have to weigh up C.Taylor and Sicily's projected increases and scoring potential for this week.

I imagine Sicily is likely to go up just as much (if not more) as Smith and C.Taylor likely won't lose as much as Starc.

I am going option three, to try and justify.

On field point increase from King (50) to Smith (100) and Starc (50) to Andrews/Hurn (95)... is a 95 point increase and also maximising price effectiveness based on current breakeven's.

Pittonet to Gawn would need to be Gawn (150), Pitt (55) to equal this equation. (Grundy/Neale captains negating the captaincy factor a little).
I can't see Gawn averaging that much for the remainder, nor Pittonet that low. You are also bring in a rookie in Option 1 who could easily be dead wood during a period we can not afford dead wood!

Option 2 probably stacks up best on the simple metrics above, however it almost rules out (or uses another trade) the option of getting Gawn in 3-5 weeks.

Very basic analysis - however trying to help me sleep better and pray Gawn has a down week!

Option 1 easily for me. You have an option to get Gawn, take it! He plays one more game than all the others given he’s “bye free”.

Seems a waste having Smith on the bench. I would be moving one of your DPP players to the midfield if you bring him in (guess you can with Budarick).

Option 1 or 2 seems best to me, the ruck issue needs fixing, tempted to say option 3 purely based on your history with Andrews though.

Smith would be moved to the midfield via Budarick meaning only 2 of Simpson, Pickett, Bennell and Serong need to be fielded at M7 and M8.

I have already done Pitt to Gawn. I have enough to go Brander to B Smith, as planned. I have no cover for mids or forwards. Also cash gen is a worry. Should I go to Simpson/Mayes type instead, what you guys think? Defence is complete with Day as cover.

Nice suggestion but doesn't give me enough cash to make those trades. Sicily has a BE of just 28 this week so want to pounce on him now before his price rises as I think he is a top 6 defender this year.

Hewett & Hayward in real doubt for the swans this week with injuries so McInerney might get a recall this week hopefully.

Fyfe/Pittonet to Bailey Smith/Gawn.

Fyfe likely out another 1-2 weeks and may see more forward time regardless, plus price is still high.

Leaves 125k left over. Potentially 1-2 downgrades following week and target one or both of Stewart/Shuey and/or one of Simpkin/Duncan in week 3.

May require sideways Ceglar. Think best option to get my team out of the quagmire it is in is sideways fake premiums to player who have one injury score.

edit: round 9-12 out, Shuey will be a further week out due to bye. Hawks/Freo/Eagles bye will be painful, expect Hill/Ceglar could become Stewart that week.
