To be eligible for this award a player must be on their 1st Contract, 22 Years or Younger and have played 10 AFL Games or Less.

The winner will be determined by votes cast at the end of the season, where a range of different factors including season average, position, games played, and their importance to their SCSUL League side are to be considered, etc.

Great stuff!!

Ben King is rumoured to be upset after being overlooked for a Round 2 nomination after scoring 130 in SCSUL R2, but we can’t just have GC players in contention!

King comes into the 2020 season ineligible due to playing too many games last year (14).

If it's any consolation for Rangers fans, Matty Rowell looks likely to be eligible for the 2021 SCSUL Rising Star...

Ahh I see!

Haha, that would be something! Hopefully Rankine this season and Rowell the next!

Goodie's Giants FC

As expected, the Giants go in unchanged for this weekends encounter against the Neptune Knights. Brodie Grundy will lead the side, with the inform Clayton Oliver to take on the responsibly of the vice captaincy for the week. Tim Taranto should be better for run after returning from injury last round, and youngster Will Day retains his place in the side over Riley Bonner. Darcy Cameron and Lachlan Schultz have earned themselves recalls as emergencies, while Ned McHenry won't participate in this weekends reserves scrimmage match organised against The Knights after coach Goodman revealed in his Friday presser that they would give the youngster a weekend off ahead of a hectic schedule coming up.

Still trying to get my head around why we appear to be dropping the AFL round 9 draw ...

- Seems to me to be the last of the non comprised rounds ...
- Couldn't care less what happens after that ... well I do but really out of our hands ...
- Probably an obvious answer but guess I'm missing it or reading it all wrong ...

We aren't, AFL Round 9 directly relates to SCSUL Round 8. Same as the previous 6 Rounds, and this the 7th Round.
See Klo's post below in red and the table in the original post...

With the AFL running with a condensed fixture of 33 games in 20 days, the SCS Ultimate League will structure the fixture in the following manner.
View attachment 19048

The rounds leading up the half way mark of the season and trade deadline will comprise:
  • Round 8 will follow the AFL fixture
  • Round 9 will follow the AFL round 10 fixture plus the WCE/CAR & FRE/HAW games from AFL round 11

The FESTIVAL OF FANTASY period begins with:
  • Rounds 10,11 & 12 will follow the AFL round 11 fixture plus the GWS/SYD game from AFL round 12
  • Rounds 13,14 & 15 will follow the AFL round 12 fixture

Rounds 16,17 & 18 and Finals will be determined once the AFL release their rounds 13-18 fixture.

NB. Much thanks goes out to fixture guru Goodie's Guns for his work on the SCSUL fixture.

Read that a few times now and the "actual" round 9 AFL games H2H matchups seem to have been omitted ... this is where I have ??

It confused me too but then I remembered that SCSUL Round 8 corresponds to AFL Round 9 (as SCSUL started from AFL Round 2).

Bomber is correct, Round 8 SCSUL is just a plain and simple round as per normal, relating to AFL Round 9.
Got it now ... will need to manually amend the "SCSUL" rounds provided to match actual "AFL" rounds ... to make sense of it all ... not ideal but it is what it is ...

Might appear simple to you but doesn't currently align with everything else I have set up for other comps ...

5 inclusions from the side that narrowly lost to the @Bomber18 led Roppongian Rangers, allowing a full 22 for the 1st time since SCSUL RD2.

Out: P Ahern, X Duursma, G Ablett, J Riewoldt
In: T Stewart, S Mayes, H Morrison, S Jacobs and B Acres

T Stewart returns after spending the last 3 matches on the sidelines as well as Sauce returning for his 1st match since SCSUL RD2 meaning @Connoisseur finally avoids another a ruck donut.

S Mayes becomes the 31st player to wear the illustrious Creme de la Creme guernsey and H Morrison becomes the 32nd after being named as an emergency on 3 occasions.
