The elite top end has the potential to destroy someone who has cheaped out on budget premium mids in a single week though. You only have to look back 2 weeks ago when Josh Kelly (195), Oliver (177), Macrae (169) & Neale (152) all put up massive scores.

Personally, I'm looking to add Mitchell & Fyfe over the next 2 weeks to join Neale, Macrae, Oliver, Dangerfield, Duncan & Cripps in my midfield.
That’s my thinking too. I’ve got Zerrett and Conigilio at the lower end already and Cripps just hasn’t got going this season. I don’t know if I’ll go back to Fyfe though after trading him once already.

This.

I am happy with Neale and Duncan in my midfield. I am content with Cripps despite his recent run of poor scoring. Danger is not hitting expected heights and my other mids are McGrath, Viney and Yeo. I am seriously looking at the big guns because my el cheapo midfield has been killing me. Titch and Fyfe seem obvious, all the other big hitters have skyrocketed in price.

If you could post your current R10 team and $$$ it will help others to provide you with more constructive feedback with regards to possible future trades.
So this is my current team. Bit low on trades and cash but hoping to get rid of rankine, Hamill.
i dont know if i should Trade pickett out next round or this
Preferably i would like to only use 3 trades

Anybody is welcome to comment on my current set up

I'm not entirely comfortable with Yeo and Mitch Duncan at M7/8. Ideally, I would have had someone like Cripps M8, but Clayton Oliver is way out of reach and with rookie cash gen really poor, I can't afford to sideways trade Yeo/avoid the potential value in Duncan.

But I completely agree that I want as many of the Ultra elites as I can have; and sometimes that involves leaving out value but not ultra elite picks like Gaff.

Yeo was an early season Rowell replacement that hasn't worked out so far.

I wouldn’t be fussed with Duncan at M7/M8. Excluding the injury game he’s averaging 122. If he maintains that for the rest of the season he will probably be a top 6 mid.

Whilst it would be great to have elite mids in all spots I think most people’s M8 won’t be exactly who they want.

Going value means you probably get the player a week earlier than the elite, which means an extra week of a rookie off field. The later this gets in the season the smaller the difference. For example:
A) Trade rookie (60) to Shuey (100) in round 11.
100 x 8 rounds = 800
B) Wait a week and get Fyfe (110)
60 + 110 x 7 = 830
Not a dramatic difference that becomes smaller later in the season.

This will be tough to fix , 9 upgrades to do and very little cash to do it.

Certainly wouldn't be trading out Pickett (he might be your season long M8)

I would definitely keep Rankine as well.

Hamill - > Watson (Fremantle)
Hoskin-Elliott - > Simpkin or Darling/Kennedy/Oscar McInerney

or Sier via DPP

maybe bring Schoenberg (Adelaide) in on your mid bench or wait a week
for Wicks

to be honest not sure what else , maybe @THCLT can come up with a master trade plan for you (he is good at that)

Coming into this round Duncan was the 12th best averaging mid player even taking into account his injury game.

Walters was 11th.

Doubt many would have Steele (3rd) , Sidebottom (6th) , Lyons (10th).

Treloar (5th) now injured.

Sidebottom and Lyons are interesting options for someone looking for a POD. Steele maybe not at that price, I’m not sure he’ll be able to maintain his current level.

Was looking at Sidebottom as a alternative to Mitchell but now have a change of thought and going Nic Nat instead.

Lyons certainly has continued on from his second half of last season.

Dunkley could be a different POD in a round or so.

Thanks for reminding me of Steele, was on my radar last year but he looks the goods this year

I remember well what Thanh (THCLT) did for my team some years ago. Whatever he says, pay attention.

I wasn't going solely by average; but a mix of scoring history, sustainability, breakout potential etc.

Players like Clarry/Fyfe/Titch etc who have shown multiple seasons of elite scoring versus flash in the pan seasons like Duncan is having.

Fair enough.

Duncan is probably the most under rated mid in SC (along with Parker) probably been Top 12 on aggregate the last 2-3 seasons.

Oh he's good no doubt about it; but I wasn't (and I'm still not certain, that a 120 average was sustainable), and since I have only so many spaces, it was a lot of consideration before I decided to bring him in.

I guess a lot will probably be aiming for Macrae , Mitchell , Neale & Oliver.

Fyfe if he doesn't break down again.

I guess working out the next 3-4 over the rest of the season is the $ 50 k question

Could throw a blanket over a dozen of them.

Byes or no byes player , how strong is your M9 , Best 18 rounds etc etc

So many variables.
