Like the move but would prefer to use the Shuey cash to grab Williams in defence (this round or next) or a forward instead.
fwd line is complete, (Whitfield in mids for time being) my last defender plans to be Lloyd

Trading a player who has an injury and played through it to two injury risk players, although Bennell also has the injury tag as he sees himself on the way out.

If you are doing, Fyfe is not for me. Beside the fact I am enjoying Serong's scores, with another player spending more time in the mids, Fyfe may not go back to the 100% mid player he was in the early rounds. Not just injury risk, role as well concerns for Fyfe.

Shuey I like, tends to be an injury player once a year, not more.
fair points,

original trade plans was just 1 Bennell > Schoenberg and possibly Mcpherson (if not named) > Watson

Don't think I will have the $$$ for either but no harm in asking the question 😀

Tay Tay without BBQ for how many games becomes interesting.
I like Adams. Not as a person, he looks like he’s the type to steal his nans pension to buy a pack of Winnie Blues.

As a pick though, he’ll be front and centre for a lot of time in that midfield for the rest of the season. I’m tossing up between him and Titch, if they’d both had their bye I’d be going for Adams 100% of the time I reckon.

hahaha totally agree

heart and soul of the football club , I might need to rethink my Trade 11 plans to target him in Round 12.

Bugger it , I have mentioned him enough times the past few weeks so time to take a Big O ride

Noble - > Jobe
KKP - > Big O
Tobias - > Boots

then Tay Tay time in Round 12

time for even more fun (or tears)

In the last two weeks with ($200,000 aprox in the kitty) I've traded out Gawn, Brander, McInerny, C Taylor,Rankine and Pickett for Duncan, Stewart, Petracca, Simpkin,Tobe Watson, and Shoenberg.
So out 1 super premo , in 4 premos.

Ahhh ok yeah good idea. For example i think WHE is overpriced but idk who to trade to?(but its gotta be someone cheaper right?)
At around $310k WHE is priced at approximately 62 (divide by $5,000) which is actually low for him historically (I look at the last c. 3 seasons of data on scoring and games played). Footywire is excellent for this info:

https://www.footywire.com/afl/footy/pu-collingwood-magpies--will-hoskin-elliott

With that said, he has an injury and Sier is potentially very cheap, priced at c. 52 and with an 80 average in his first year, and potential to score well if he plays mid (check the centre bounce info posted on this site for that data - eg use the search function (top right hand side) for “CBA” posted by “@connoisseur”).

Two things I would flag:

- I would normally not recommend you trade out overpriced players like this, I’m only suggesting it because your cash generation is behind a lot of other coaches’. The trick in this game is basically (1) to start a good slate of top premiums that are not too overpriced, and then fill the rest of your starting side with playing rookies who can average say 50+ for a string of games and generate cash for you, and then (2) you downgrade one rookie who is close to maxing out in price and upgrade another, to build towards a full premium side. Essentially you want to work backwards from your desired full premium side, start as many of those players as you can (not low quality “premiums” - the ones you actually want, which in my view should be the durable top scorers). Your window to use this approach may be closing for this year, so trading overpriced players is one other way to generate cash. For example, I think Sier will beat WHE’s scoring if he can stay in the side, and the trade raises some cash for you as well. It’s not perfect, but it’s an option.

- Follow what @THCLT has laid out for you. His trade plans are excellent, and I suspect it will both improve your side and help you improve for next year. This is a funny season anyway, and SC is tricky to improve significantly at, until you get the basic strategy right (essentially what I outlined above). Using the rest of the year as a bit of a practice run/planning opportunity could put you in a strong position for improving rankings for years to come.

Looking like three trades this week with one prem coming in - out Buda, Starc and Egg. Trying to keep my better rookies with good JS - Pickett, King, Simpson.

Feels like it is coming to be a war of attrition this season. Of course I normally jump the wrong way in the second half of the season... So many times I have saved trades and watched those in the no trades club ride their luck and get away with it. When I do try to do it, I end up eating tasty donuts for round after round :cautious:

Does this stat from Connoisseur in the captains thread give anyone second thoughts on Mitchell?

2020 Wins Avg: 130.5 from 4 (1/4 below 100, 2/4 120+)
2020 Losses Avg: 101 from 5 (2/5 below 100, 1/5 120+)

Next 3- Freo in Perth (still a potential loss), West Coast in Perth, Port in Adelaide. Now I’m not so sure, it’s hard to see Hawthorn’s current record of about one loss for every win changing.

Thoughts on Tobe Watson? Does he maintain his place in the side? What if S.Hill returns this weekend?

Good question , then have to play

St Kilda (2)
Western Bulldogs (9)
Essendon (10)
Gold Coast Suns (11)
Adelaide (18)

No I don't know the fixture , just based on current ladder position of who they haven't played/scheduled to play

It’s a good question, but personally I’m not that concerned about it. If he averaged 115 (rough average of 130 and 100) and played every game I’d be very happy with that.

His BE is 75 and he has a huge score running through so even if he went 100, 100, 100 I’m not sure he’d get materially cheaper, and then you’d only have him for a handful of rounds anyway.

Personally I like that he doesn’t seem to be playing as well this year but is still a first choice mid scorer (7th by average, and in my view more likely to maintain it than some of those ahead of him). If he gets back to anywhere near his pre injury standards there’s significant upside, and his floor seems pretty high to me.

I think I keep.gawn even if he misses and let draper back him up.

Thinking Budarick/Mahoney to Simpkin/Schoenberg writes itself

I might just pull a COVID-ball 2020 madness style trade out of Josh Kelly to another big dog just so I have a chance in the SCS PL against @IDIG 😉

3 extra premiums for you pre trades...I am scrambling to keep in the race with you this week. I think I will need to balance the ledger somehow if I am to sTITCH you up this week! 😃

I have almost settled on;

Bennell and Budarick out
Simpkin and Schoenberg in.

It seems neat and I save my first trade of the year. I think I let Mitchell go for the week. I can't find the right combo to bring him in. Simpkin is a nice price.
I’m not sold on Simpkin as a premo, if you picked him up early then great, but he’s a nice price because he’s been scoring poorly the last 3-4 rounds. I can see why he’s tempting, but I just feel he’s a trap.
