He's improved every year so far.
I'm hoping Wingard is going to fill Stevie J's roll up forward for me this year, it'll be an expensive gamble at $531k though :)
Im quite excited for Wingard, seems like such a great prospect and shined last year. As said its quite a gamble, not sure if i want to take it though. What do people think his chances are of averaging 90+?

He has only played two season so far though.

I am tossing up whether to go with him or not, as Drew points out it is an expensive gamble to take but the rewards could be huge.
From what I saw he did play majority forward last season with only stints in the midfield, hopefully that reverses this season as he gets a bigger tank and can run out games in the midfield. Hence we would hopefully see a further increase in his scoring.

I think the word you're looking for here is x-factor. There really isn't too many other SC relevant choices that are running half forward types that get plenty of midfield time and kick goals and really seem to have that superstar ability.

I know there's Dusty Martin but i think i'd rather have Wingard and the extra $20k anyday.

It's definitely a risk at his price but there really isn't anyone else that fits that premium mid/def role vacated by Stevie J so well. Should be plenty of upside at his age too.

Yep, thats the word im looking for. To be honest ive never been a dusty fan myself, i love imitating the fend off when mucking around but hes never got a look in my fantasy sides. Wingard seems to be the man im looking for. Cheers

Im liking the parker, gray as x factors. They play in the guts and might be in the top 10 fwds at years end. Priced in the $400k region im thinking of locking in 1 of them

I like Gray but he's injury prone.
I think a few years ago he was super fit in the preseason and was ready to take the next step. Then a few rounds in and I think he broke his leg.

Re Wingard

Massive flat track bully (one 100+ score against a top 8 team last year). I'd avoid.
He's a massively "symmetrical FTB" actually.
In the last 2 seasons, he has scored in rounded off figures, 25% higher against GWS, Melb and GC, and 25 lower against the tougher five teams, while scoring at roughly his average against the other teams. This season he has one more game against the tougher teams, and one less against the easy teams, than last season. That's enough to say he might be a little down on last year. HOWEVER..... that doesn't account for any improvement or role change. I actually think he will improve upon last seasons average, and I'm strongly considering him.

FWD break out candidates? Can any of these step up even half as well as the glory year of danger, beams and side bottom? I'd like to sneak one in as my F4.

Based purely on gut feeling and not statistical analysis these are my top 3

Motlop
Dahlhaus - I like him particularly due to his R9 bye
Howlett

Others on the watchlist...

Parker
Mitchell
Kerridge
Lyons
Mayes
Lewis Jetta
Caddy

Thoughts?

My top three fwd breakouts in order would be:
Motlop
Gunston
Parker

Doubt I will pick any of them in the initial team though
