Nielsen vs Pfeffer is interesting.

Neither has an advantage for Rds 1, 2, 3, 6, 8 and 11.
Nielsen has a small advantage for Rds 4 and 5 (extra game to decide for VC).
Nielsen has a big advantage for Rds 7 and 12 (Pfeffer plays 1st game).
Pfeffer has a big advantage for Rds 9, 10 and 13 (Nielsen plays 1st game).
Pretty even.

Pfeffer is 20k cheaper which helps the Rd 1 team.
Nielsen has an early double can potentially increase in price (albeit most likely minimal) before Carey replaces him.
Nielsen IMO is less likely to get a game with all the Strikers batting options.

also could

Start with Nielsen and trade him after Rd 8 to one of Pfeffer/Holt. Uses an extra trade but VC loop should be sorted for whole season.

Carey is available for their second game of Round 2.

Nielsen has a advantage in Round 1 because of the Bye.

Not meaning to nitpick but for the rounds you said that neither has the advantage... I've looked into it a bit deeper.

Round 1 - Nielsen has a bye so he has a big advantage there.
Round 2 - Pfeffer has a big advantage as Nielsen plays first game.
Round 3 - Pfeffer has a small advantage as he has 2 extra games to decide VC/C.
Round 6 - Nielsen has a small advantage as he plays the last game so 2 extra games over Pfeffer.
Round 8 - Nielsen a small advantage as he has 1 extra game for u to decide VC.

Round 11 - Pfeffer vs Nielsen so you're correct on that one.

Everything else you wrote is great and definitely in consideration for me.

Feeling like my team is set provided all players i’m expecting to play round 1 are named.

Stoinis v Maxwell as C still up in the air. Leaning towards Maxy as you would think it’s unlikely Stoinis bowls, at least early on. Maxy probably bowls a few overs over the two games.

Bring on Thursday night.

U Khawaja as well for me.

Player of his calibre available under $120,000 represents minimal risk, can be held throughout the season, integral part of the Thunder’s batting lineup (and their potential success) and doesn’t throw his wicket away whilst rotating the strike and maintaining a high strike rate.
Agree think he is very much underpriced for what he could score.

First 5 games at Manuka where he averages 19.7 SC points from 3 games although it looks like a 59, 0 , 0 so could be misleading.

I guess with his starting price he shouldn't get too far out of reach if needed to trade in around Round 3 or 4.

I think Stoinis not bowling makes him very interesting.

Reasons to stay with him.
-Double straight up.
-Highest run scorer last year.
-Brisbane Heat’s bowling attack looks woeful for round 1.

Reasons to stay clear.
-185k for a pure bat is always risky.
-Huge anti-pod.
-Duck in the one ODI doesn’t scream form.
-Coming off an injury.

I can’t see myself starting all Stoinis, Maxy and Zampa for structure reasons. At the moment, leaving Stoinis out is the way I’m leaning.

Could be a case of overthinking and it comes back to bite me - but starting to think it could be a worthwhile risk.

I think Stoinis is still close to a must have even if not bowling. He didn’t bowl last season and still did very well. I think it’s the captaincy choice that is now very much up for debate.

If available I’ll be starting all of Stoinis, Maxwell and Zampa.

Structure considerations definitely relevant here.

Personally I now see Maxy as more of a keeper and Stoinis more of a trade out (to fund Strikers and/or avoid cash leakage), so they’ve kind of switched spots in my side/plans. Stoinis not bowling may increase Maxy’s bowling too.
