Interestingly still averaged 102 after round 10. Probably suggests he's a low risk pick with the upside of more midfield time if an injury or two occurs. Will likely be a reasonably pod starting pick with people being scared off by the inclusion of Treloar. I'm personally not overly concerned by the abundance of midfield talent at the dogs, you have to take a risk starting one or two given the likelihood a couple go 110+.

All this discussion and my team is somehow becoming G&R. Might leave the midprice madness to the Lock and Load comp.
I'm considering running a lock and load midprice madness comp this year actually. Restricted to players 200K - 450K. Just waiting for SC to open to everyone before I create a topic for it - might not be enough interest though...

Do it, you’ll probably be doing a few of us a service 😋

Who thinks Luke McDonald is worth a look. Averaged 118 from his last 10 games in 2020 when he got moved to defence. Could easily be a top 6 defender. I got a feeling will see the biggest averages from defenders this year compared to any other season of SuperCoach. Calling it early could be 6-8 players going 105+

I have him as a top 6 defender this year. Could go down a little bit this year following backline changes at north year to year. But the north backline will be seeing plenty of it and they love giving him the ball.

If this has been raised previously apologies in advance. Given rotations will drop from 90 to 75 are there any thoughts on how it could affect mid scoring? And possibly some teams playing style.

Hocking comment last November was this. I thought fatigue would mean the ball would move less quickly and less efficiently decreasing the fast game the AFL has been trying to encourage. Wonder if final quarters will start looking like an under 16 pre season scratch match. Increase in clangers for mids or more time on ground for mids equals better scoring for some?

"The main reason (for the 75 interchange cap) is to try and open up congestion around the ground. There are a lot of high pressure game styles which have kicked in, the pressure factors have increased, and have been on the increase for five years now, so our belief is we need to put a little bit of fatigue back into the system, and to recalibrate that part of the game and hopefully have the result of opening up the game,"

lol - Blimey, I hadn't thought the Lock and Load would have a baby ... so to speak

I have about 8 < 500 and 5 of them under 400 likely for Lock and Load at this stage... I mean, I have to defend the crowns, right?

I've considered player general fitness with some of my more speculative mid choices at present, like Taranto, Walsh & Bailey Smith.

In the six weeks since pre-season kicked off, the 23-year-old has been training with the Club’s midfielders under the tutelage of new assistant coach Nathan van Berlo. Milera said his long-term future was likely away from defence.
“I’m training with the midfield group at the moment,” Milera told AFC Media.
“It’s where I want to play down the track and I feel I can add a lot to that group.
“I like playing off half-back, but as an AFL footballer you need to be able to play in a few places.
“I want to be in the thick of things, that’s where footy games are won and lost.”

I saw this earlier today.

It seems everyone is training with the mids there this season as Laird & Smith both are too.

I wouldn't expect Milera to spend much time through there even if he does switch.

As long as he isn't in the forward group I am happy to start him.
