Cockatoo will play round 1 no issues this pre season
If they could get McCarthy right I think nakia will surprise you this year
Agree on smith
Macrae and cockatoo though I’m 100% will play
11 , 10 , 10 , 2 , 0 , 0 certainly looks a worry on face value

let's see how he goes in the practice match , cheap and DPP so might be worth it , just needs to string 6-8 games together I guess to do his job

Will need to look at GC draw and see how valuable he is as a VC/C option.
He has a pretty good draw in the first 4. Round 5 and 6 are manageable via a dropped rookie.

Looks reasonable enough , could use him or Davies (if Davies looks likely to play at some stage , although then that might cost me a downgrade target)

Depends on the onfield rookie situation and whether I start Laird , either in D or M

What do you expect Cockatoo to score out of interest? Looking at his previous games, I'm not sure why he is the most popular pick. Lots of sub 50 scores, a few 70's and 2 90 scores from 30+ games. I guess he is the most likely "rookie" to play in the forwards (along with Rowe), but I'm definitely not 100% on him at this point - there should be better options available. No idea who at this point which is the concern!
I’d back him to go 55-65
Nothing special
But nothing drastically bad
He’ll be a perfect cash cow f6 I think
Also playing at half back which is the best position for non midfielders in my opinion.

Just think all the reports are he’s had a great pre season
Brisbane track history of getting guys bodies right has been great
He would’ve played last year but geelong left him out cause they knew he was leaving

We only need him to get through 5-7 games and then can up down him to a fallen premo fwd/mid

I guess like everyone else I hope he is indeed a viable option at his price and with DPP.

Obviously highly talented so hope for his sake and the Lions he can get his body right and finally show what he can deliver on the field on a weekly basis.

The Crows’ internal trial at West Lakes on Saturday will see a blue team take on a red team with plenty of salivating matchups likely to happen. The blue team will be led by captain Rory Sloane, with a trio of Club Champions alongside him in the engine room in the form of Reilly O’Brien, Matt Crouch and Rory Laird. Harry Schoenberg, Ben Keays, Lachlan Sholl and Wayne Milera provide handy midfield depth. Taylor Walker, Darcy Fogarty and Billy Frampton will spearhead the attack for the blues, with Shane McAdam and mature-age draftee James Rowe also set to roam the forward 50.

A young red team will look to experienced pair Tom Lynch, Brodie Smith and Luke Brown for leadership, with three of the Crows’ 2020 draft class preparing for their first full hit-out. No.2 pick Riley Thilthorpe is set to line up next to Elliott Himmelberg as tall targets up forward. Luke Pedlar and Sam Berry are expected to be given midfield minutes for the red team, as is former Giant Jackson Hately. The magnets are likely to shift on the whiteboard and players switch teams throughout the game as Adelaide’s coaches look towards Round One in four weeks' time. Daniel Talia, Tom Doedee, Mitch Hinge and Brayden Cook will miss Saturday’s game due to injury.

The game will be live streamed from 10.30am ACDT on afc.com.au and the Crows Official App

POTENTIAL MATCHUPS TO WATCH FOR:
  • James Rowe (blue) v Luke Brown (red)
  • Taylor Walker (blue) v Jordon Butts (red)
  • Midfield clash - Laird/Crouch/Sloane/Keays (blue) v Hately/O’Connor/Berry/Pedlar (red)
