I like it... especially the double Demon midfield 😎
Just a couple of comments / questions as follows :
1. I know you said you were uncertain about the 2 on field Def rookies and could fix with a juggle to Cox. This implies that you still have another viable rookie at F6. How confident are you about the availability of this extra rookie and what is your plan if you need to play Cox at D6 ?
2. No Tim Green I see... What is your thinking here?
3. Williams at D4 - I see the upside and I have owned him in previous seasons so I understand the appeal... however he is built from tissue paper and always picks up niggles and knocks... is this of any concern to you?

Apart from that, very similar to my team in many ways, so much to like 👍
No I would drop Williams & bring in Young/Cox/ maybe Harmes in the final 3 spots. Cheers for your thoughts (y)

Seeing as the general consensus is there is plenty of value in the forwards this year, what about this team?

Plenty of cash left over for further tweaking. Maybe there is plenty of value in the forwards after all, as I purposely left out ZDI for a bit of variety.

Looks good but I’d probably swap out Hawkins & Butters for Kyle Langford (mid/fwd) & Rory Lobb (ruc/fwd). Might be handy to have those DPP options

IMO, I think the problem with this team, is that altough you only need 1 DEF upgrade, you need 5 MID upgrades. Whilst I'm all for value, trying to get in the Neale's, Oliver's, Macrae's, Petracca's etc could be very hard if they go top 10 again when you may need all 5.

Looking at your ranks you know what you are doing, but that would be my only comment, aside from your M1 and M2 not having the best recent injury history ;)
This is the area that I'm concerned about for alot of teams being posted, fair call a couple of the big mids may drop in price but is it really feasible to be chasing 3 or 4 of them throughout the season? Its a long grind to get to blokes over 600k and theres bound to be a couple that smash it from day dot.

Pre-AAMI series (and proper SC scores hopefully) this is me!

Assuming none of Jones, Highmore, Wehr play but if they do I'd restructure to bring Danger in and drop Daniel.

Hard to fault this one since the only differences to my side is Jelly & Caldwell vs Fyfe & Green.

Feels odd to have such a mid priced side this close to the season proper but the closer we get the more it seems the correct choice.

Bit of Bombers bias there or you genuinely like the Caldwell pick over Green who’s probably shown a bit more?

Haha I know you’ve been keen on Green all preseason.

Did consider him ahead of Caldwell but I’m hoping for a keeper rather than a cash cow in that spot. If I can be a bit surer that Green goes 100-105, he makes a lot more sense over Caldwell. I always scrutinise 2nd year breakouts as they are extremely rare, especially in the mids. I worry Green has a 80-85 year, which is very normal for a 2nd year player.

Caldwell has to do less in the fwds to be a keeper. Will be prominent in the mid rotations and has had an extra year of AFL development to Green.

Yeah to be fair I’m an unabashed Green fan, perhaps I’m biased myself. I do worry that this year is going to be the typical 2nd year but I think they’ll be keen to get him fast tracked to their main bash and crash mid as quick as possible.

That game style might lead him to be the the type of player that’s either at the bottom of the pack or on the bench whereas Caldwell might spend some of his rest time in a pocket to prop his scores up a bit.

Interestingly enough there’s only 4 months age gap between them and Caldwell has spent more than his fair share of time injured in his draft year and first year on GWS list so I’m not sure he’s any more resistant to that “2nd” year stagnation than Green is.

Definitely be watching both intently this week.

This is where I'm at prior to this weekend's games. Hopefully 1 or 2 defender rookies turn up, but otherwise I don't mind starting 6 Def.
Still hoping Whitfield gets there for Rd 1, but if not will either become Tom Stewart or a mid (if Def rookies arrive).
Either way I can swing Laird into the mids if need be.
Gonna be a task getting in the gun mids during the year, but for mine there are question marks on several of them at their price right now.
Petracca and Dunks are the other two, outside of Whitfield that are most likely to change before round 1

Given Green played so few games I'm not sure the second year blues would apply. He should be hungry rather than worn out.

Fair call mate. It’s part of my “final spot” so the spot is up for grabs. I’m not against TGreen if he’s a genuine prospect to score 100-105, I prioritize points on field and love a mid pricer to squeeze value from every position. I heavily scrutinize 2nd year breakouts though.

The $30k from Waterman in for Henry let me fit in Daniel + Caldwell whereas before I had Cummings + Danger.

This is me before the AAMI round kicks off with 9k in the back pocket.

Would like Lloyd in there over Mills, but I'm really struggling to make it work without weakening my midfield. Feel like I've already got enough risk in there with Rowell/Walsh/Green.

Based on current information a realistic Gawn & Grundy starting side only gives you 12 premiums (even then Williams is debatable)

D: LLOYD , LAIRD * , STEWART , DOCHERTY , WILLIAMS , Butts / Cox * , Ling

M: OLIVER , KELLY , DANGERFIELD * , FYFE , CRIPPS , Powell , F Macrae * , E Smith * / Downie , Gulden , Lazarro

R: GAWN , GRUNDY / Flynn

F: Ziebell , Daniher , Impey , Dow * , Campbell * , Cahill / Rowe , Waterman

Time for some Community Series games
Actually think 6 onfield rookies + ZDID leaves me very exposed , ideal setup is (I think) ZDID + 4 rookies , which would mean 2 midpricers from Caldwell/Green/Hately/Heppell/Sier price type........unless 🤔

Ideally I think I want to start :-

4-Williams-1
3-2-3 (M6 rookie doesn't look right either)
2
Danger , Heeney , ZDID
