Dusty vs Dunkley is gonna annoy me
Being a tiger watching him live dominate and not be in my team is hell
But Dunkley has a higher ceiling and is probably a better pick

Dunkley has a bigger upside and downside - its a bit of a cop out but I think it depends on how much risk you are carrying on the rest of your team. I think Dunkley is best if you have a stable team already in terms of proven premos and low injury risk players; and Dusty is best if you have a more speculative premos or injury prone players.

Agree with this. Also Dunkley’s role seems more likely to change based on recent comments than I would have hoped. Dunkley is cheap if playing midfield, but there’s a decent chance he has a down game due to role, and you can get him similarly cheap down the track if you wish.

I had Dusty as an upgrade target because of potential for a down game, but went Dunkley => Dusty a while back for the certainty.

For mine, not having Dunkley could hurt. Not having Martin is quite unlikely to hurt.

The inverse is true but I think even with a bad midfield split Dunkley is a keeper so really it's just a loss of value, something that Martin has done every year for half a decade, that is the likely downside on Dunkley.

Only other factor is durability where Martin is elite and Dunkley is bad, big preseason though so he's as well set up as he can be. If you've got a lot of other injury prone guys though, Martin probably a better choice.

Macrae v Oliver. Oliver didn’t play and macrae bought his own ball to the game.
base on what you said would go Macrae for now until we see a glimpse of Oliver

In the forward line:
Dunkley and Ziebell
vs.
Heeney and Caldwell
Dunkley and Ziebell easy
Heeney and Caldwell you don’t know what to expect imo

Really struggling with my M3. Merrett seems the safe play, Fyfe the go to from previous years and Kelly the one where it will click eventually and you don't wan't to miss out!

Fyfe vs Kelly vs Merrett.

Go with the guy who is most likely to score the highest amount of points this season. That would be Merrett.

I'm seeing pretty similar XvYs all over this morning, here's another one:
Fyfe and Dusty
vs
Danger and Walsh

Although if Nick Murray is named and I take him instead of Butts, I can just have Fyfe and Danger... but they are getting old now in footy terms

I'd be trying to make the Fyfe/Danger combo work. Plenty of life left in the old boys for mine.

Short vs Laird vs Daniel
Daniel > Short > Laird for mine.. Laird not as damaging by foot as the other two and I have Daniel ahead of Short just because he has been more consistent.. Short could have a massive year if left to roam and damage, by far the best kick of the 3..

My x v y is Short v Howe.. have Howe ahead purely because he marks a lot more, especially if he is being 'locked down' by a defensive forward..

Flynn v Meek. Sorry if this has been done before.
Flynn for me. Expected that he plays from round 1 and will play most games until Preuss is good to go which is ages away.

Meek should play round 1 but it’s expected that Darcy will be back soon which will likely see Meek omitted.
