Flynn for me. Expected that he plays from round 1 and will play most games until Preuss is good to go which is ages away.

Meek should play round 1 but it’s expected that Darcy will be back soon which will likely see Meek omitted.
Agree - If Flynn is 100% fine after his ankle issue, I think he is the one - with Pruess out long term he should get plenty of games.

Another thing why I think Flynn is preferable.

If Flynn does score very well with Preuss out for 5 months, he could provide excellent cover for most of the year, especially useful in round 14 when Gawn & Grundy have the bye/ best 18 count. GWS have their bye in round 12, Freo have the bye in round 14. Obviously it depends how things turn out during the season but the saints have the bye round 14 also so even if Marshall is playing well by then you can't swing him up to cover Gawn & Grundy.

DeGoey v Caldwell and 80k

Killing me
What does the extra 80K get you?

Tough one, I think Caldwell is a potential bargain, could average 90+ but DeGoey has the ability to average 100+ if he can stay fit.

DeGoey has the higher ceiling in my opinion - as a pies man, surely you back in your gun?:p

Flynn v Meek. Sorry if this has been done before.
Just to add a little to this - Freo play before GWS name a team, so we potentially won't even know if Flynn gets up for round 1. If Freo name Darcy AND Meek that suggests he's pretty safe in Lobb's spot, which would put him on a similar level to Flynn in terms of safety. Personally I think that's less likely than one or the other and Treacy so I'd lean Flynn regardless.

Don't think you could keep that kind of cash sitting on the bench until round 14 for a best 18 score in the easiest of the bye rounds!

For mine Flynn over Meek if both picked round 1.

Meek looks better if Darcy picked over Treacy for Lobb's spot but still not better than Flynn who is the clear #1 if he is picked.

Expecting the worst case of no Darcy for Meek and Briggs to steal the spot

If Briggs does get a spot Rd 1 would you take him?

Would depend on Flynn. If they say Flynn is available and picked Briggs over him, absolutely and I'd structure for him as an on-field rookie.

If they picked him because Flynn wasn't fit it's a much tougher choice, possession is 9/10ths of the law and Briggs showed enough that he could make the spot his and he'd be by far the best defender rookie as long as he's playing. Really strong chance of getting a donut though if he struggled or just went out because they prefer Flynn.

Worst part is I think scenario two is the most likely outcome if Briggs is picked as I personally think Flynn is a fair bit ahead of Briggs. To me Briggs struggled to run out the quarters and wasn't as good as Flynn the weak before even before that.

If they were both picked then probably not, not sold he'd do much as a forward.

Thanks for that Wogi. Another one for you - I had put a line through N Cox but I see you seem to still rate him. Are you planning on selecting him or would you advise to go up to say a H Young for an extra $100k?
