Merrett + Docherty vs Brayshaw + Daniel?

Like both Merrett and Brayshaw, but don't like either Daniel or Docherty (this would be for D5)

Hey guys, interested in views on Phillips vs Caldwell vs Cameron.

- Phillips: Role but to me is the least impressive 'actual' player of these guys. 400k has to be a keeper really
- Caldwell: Hasn't been on my radar but I thought he looked like an 'actual' bloody good player. Can only improve. Could he av same as Phillips for 50k less? (SC ratio is positive)
- Cameron: I can't get this one out of my head. Geelongs draw to the bye looks delicious for a lead up fwd (as well as the new rules) and a 10 goal thrashing of the Crows rd 1 is on the cards

Low risk, lowest reward imo: Phillips > Caldwell > Cameron
High risk, highest reward imo: Cameron > Caldwell > Phillips

thoughts?

Personally, I'm picking Phillips for a F6 keeper birth . He was everywhere last week and feel his role at a new club will be great.

Cheers Tex. I've been trying to stick to a "Guns only" approach - does Phillips fit this. Not sure he does. Agree 95 av seems achievable

Danger , Martin , Dunkley , Zorko
Then
De goey , Heeney , Sidey ??? All injury prone
Then we a few breakout options
Butters , Phillips for me.
Don't like KPPs personally
Caldwell would be a definite upgrade imo.

If I told you Cameron was leading the coleman by 10 goals come round 11 what would you assume he's averaging?
NostraDimmawitt?

Cameron does have his attractions. Is prone to major suspension incurring brain fades, the odd injury and probably still geling with the Cats play style. New rules do seem to suit lead up fwds though.

The all have a different price point and I am finding this position to be the one changing the most to squeeze coin for rookie changes in other areas. Coin no issue I think I would still go Caldwell. Started Darling a few years back and KPPs

i reckon its just about the best chance since then for a similar spike but you are gambling that he kicks a bag or two before the bye. Footy has changed since Cloke's time but maybe the rules swing it back. If a 95 av from Phillips is enough for a keeper then I do think Jezza could achieve that himself (making him an OK F6) but on top of that his draw early is fantastic -> the Crows were a shambles and playing them rd 1 seems like the best chance for a big first game....the downside of course if how deflating it will feel if Hawkins kicks 8 and Jezz 1-2....i like the play but its definitely an early slash at the swinging ball when most will let it go through to the keeper

Edit: Picking him requires a bit of sacrifice on my preferred rookies. Caldwell on the other hand lets me keep my choices (I'm warming to this pick) and Phillips means I really compromise my rookies picks.

I prefer Daniel to Docherty and Merrett to Brayshaw. Comparing Docherty and Brayshaw, I probably prefer Brayshaw (just), so option 2 for me.
Chad Warner Vs Paddy Dow for F5?
Don't like either, probably Dow of the two.

Impey v Dow?

If Bowey ($117,300 MID/FWD) gets a game Rd 1 would you prefer him + the cash to either of them?

What’s the gripe with Warner? Very impressive game on the weekend I thought. Comfortably lined up at F6 for mine.
No gripe, if he can repeat that sort of game he will be a good pick, I thought it was possibly an exception based on his other matches (I didn't watch this match). I do have him on the bench in the forwards, main reason I chose Dow was the extra experience at that level, and possibly slightly better role, even if he hasn't shown much to date.

Being a Port man, what is your opinion on Bergman & his job security? Looks impressive/ had a nice role on the weekend but I do worry about Hartlett for example pushing him out of the team.
