Surprised I'm asking this.
Bowes plus $90k vs Mills?

I made a bad early call on Ridley last year. Are we seeing the emergence of another good seagull? Dew was at Sydney.

60 disp in two weeks of footy is pretty convincing stuff! What isn't is 48dt/54sc in the pre season game. I wouldn't stop anyone from wanting to have a crack at Bowes - could really pay off. But I'm taking Mills if it's me.

Whilst doing some research on Brayshaw vs Walsh found it quite interesting that Brayshaw didn't kick a single goal in 2020. In fact he only had 3 shots on goal the entire season, he's already kicked 3 goals and 1 behind in two games this season.

Could potentially be something he's worked on in the off-season, the best midfielders kick goals - could also be situational as Freo's forward line is so depleted at the moment. But if he could elevate his game to being a 20 goal a year midfielder could be all the increase he needs to be a 110-115ppg guy this season.

The play on the weekend selling the candy twice before slotting the goal suggests his confidence is sky high and absolutely has the right to keep firing them off.

Very possible both guys are top 10 mids this year, really struggling to separate them Brayshaw vs Walsh. Thoughts?

That pre-season game was what turned me off Bowes. The Lions applied more pressure in the 2nd half than either of their opponents put together have so far, GC played it safe and all Bowes did was go short to the pocket from kick ins. I'd still like to see if the same thing happens again, although GC do still have a good early draw (and are primed for another fadeout).

I think I've got Brayshaw just ahead at the moment. Carlton are pretty bad where as Freo look like they have a coherent game plan - getting involved in the scoring chains that lead to goals helps your SC stats. Brayshaw also copped some attention from MDB on the weekend and it looked like it hardly mattered.

That said, GWS as a whole were like a limp lettuce on the weekend and the Dockers basically ran around doing what they liked.

Fwiw in the head to head this weekend the Betfair market has Carlton at $1.48 and Freo at $3, I think Freo are good value there but I don’t believe Carlton are worse than Freo, I think they’re about even. Carlton have had two tough opponents and been competitive, Freo was never in it against the Dees and played a god awful GWS.

I’d lean Walsh but like both picks

The decision between tex and impey is doing my head in! I know who ever I choose they will score **** and the other will kill it. That is the SuperCoach gods.....
Tex is a smash and grab, whereas I think Impey will just get to 350k or a bit more and is safer, but will probably take a bit longer. I know the new rules suit Impey but he’s not necessarily the main man down back and he has put up the odd huge score in the past. With Tex you’re riding two huge games and really just hoping he can go big against North before trading at around 450K a week or two later. Choose if you want the safe option or a quick money grab who could mess up the plan with a poor game.

I’m goin Tex, the more aggressive strategy, with all the risk involved

Impey v Atkins v Walker?
Tough one. Atkins is clearly first if you think he could reasonably be a keeper, otherwise I think he’s probably last. I think Impey over Tex, and will likely be using my second trade to get Impey rather than Tex (alongside Jordon).

I'm going Impey myself because I want a safe rookie replacement - my expectations are not high but he's relatively cheap and will make money.
I reckon Atkins and Walker could make the same amount of money as each other but Atkins will take longer and his floor is higher so less risk and you won't be under pressure to trade him out, whereas Walker you will make some quick money but too risky to carry to the byes. So depends on what you want.

Titch only attended half the CBA's on the weekend. Clarko is playing funny buggers.
Hard to pay $650k for a player you didn't want to start with.
I'm just watching both for the moment.

I had Oliver in my team for virtually all of preseason, up until the Monday three days before the start of the year. I got rid of him to save some money and ended up preferring Macrae to him just on a reliability basis.

Titch was never in because I was concerned about his injury and didn't expect him to look this decent early on. He attended 57% this week and 77% in R1, I would definitely wager that he should see more next week, but something to be aware of.
