the way Tex and co have started the season combined with the dees form - Ben Brown has to be on the watchlist after a few games back doesn't he?
He’ll be an interesting one. Has obviously missed most of the pre-season so won’t hit the ground running like Tex has.

More of a stay at home forward when compared to Tex too. Tex so far has had 25/56 possessions as scoring shots whereas I think it’s likely that the majority of Brown’s touches will be shots at goal.

Could still be a decent 70-80 on-field type with a few spike games when he kicks bags.

Will be keen to see how he goes after two games and make a decision from there.

Thanks for the insight BB - I think from a team perspective it will be good if the dees can carry on this great start once they get a few extra nice fwd targets!

I also think/hope it will be good!

Feel a bit sorry for who misses out of T Mac and Jackson when both Brown and Weid are back but it’s a good problem to have.

Big test against the Cats this weekend. It could be argued that Melbourne haven’t played a finals bound team yet..

Keenly awaiting Dylan Shiel's prognosis.
updated

Essendon midfielder Dylan Shiel will miss close to four months of football as he works his way back from a torn meniscus.

The 28-year-old is unlikely to be available for 16 weeks after he elected to repair his damaged knee, a decision which will provide better long-term meniscal integrity, but will ultimately cost the classy ball user most of the home and away season.

The 174-gamer suffered the torn meniscus in the third quarter of Essendon’s round two clash with Port Adelaide and discovered the extent of the injury following an arthroscopic procedure carried out last week.

Head of high performance Sean Murphy said the Bombers were disappointed to lose Shiel for an extended period of time.

“Dyl’ (Dylan Shiel) saw the surgeon early last week,” Murphy told Dons Digitals’ Performance Update.

“The decision was made to go in for surgery for last Tuesday. In the end, the meniscal tear was quite significant, and the decision was made to repair the meniscal tear.

“What that means now is that there’s more of a lengthy period in terms of his rehab process and it’s looking like commonly a 16-week layoff to return to play.

“It’s big chunk of footy ‘Dyl’ is going to miss this year which is unfortunate for the club and for ‘Dyl’.”

No teams will be finals bound once the Demons have finished with them 😎😋

Pretty much put a line through him for the year. Sucks for him. Darcy Parish, it's your time to shine!

The injury has happened regardless of how I think about anything..I didn’t wish for the injury. Celebrating the fact my players won’t face him for next 10 weeks, Yes.
"Ye baby" doesn't express that sentiment.

You could have expressed your thoughts way better in regards to tagging.
