No this was the video I was referring to yesterday. Wasn't sure if it was against SCS rules to direct link to fantasy content on another site or not but I guess now I will find out:

I would encourage all Daniel holders to at least watch it as as Jords makes a number of salient points on why you should worry about holding him past the suspension. Doesn't mean you have to agree and trade him if you really don't want to ... but something to take on board.

Good point.... but what if he is a premium? something for me to think about
I'd be comfortable with Jiath if he took kick ins - unfortunately he doesn't though.

Can he continue averaging 95+ by taking a large amount of intercept marks for an entire season? I'm not sure.

Ok so current mindset is
-Butters out
-And have to get either Waterman or another playing defender as cash generation is low, But i also dont have any subs for defence
Any ideas?

I was thinking Butters to either Dunkley, Tex or the ever risky Impey?
Feel like Dunkley is the safest option, but since im late on Tex I'll have to either get him now or wait for his BE to catch him?
Impey same as Tex, although the door hasnt closed yet

Although i could go Butters to Waterman but that means Zieball is F1, which doesnt feel right

I have no clue on whats going on in defense so i think I'll have more of a look in that area

I also have 200k in bank

Any ideas or feedback is welcome, thanks
I'd go Dunkley.
Just spent the last hour looking at FWDs and it's a sea of mediocrity on which a a few ships have sailed into the sunset.
Danger & Dusty I expect to have price drops, so I'm holding off getting them.
Tex/Zieball/Impey are awkward if you don't already have them, as they look like they've had a big price rise and anything else will be incremental + there is form drop or injury potential that could stop them being keepers.
Edit - Zieball I feel the most confident about being a keeper, but you already have him.
Then there is Greene who is going well, but has injury / suspension history.

To me it points to a wait and see with FWDs, though Dunkley would be the safest pick atm.

Wavering on Caleb. Not sure if I should hold or trade. Defense is deep with Jiath D6. Mid premos underperforming (Neale Zerrett Jelly) so I was looking to inject another stud in there.

Caleb>Steele or Macrae
Daniher>Waterman

For some clarity on the effects of the above trade:

-Chapman(D7) would replace Caleb
-Steele/Macrae replace a rookie mid
-Waterman replaced Daniher
-8 rookies on the ground instead of 7
(Chapman Gulden Powell Berry Warner
Campbell Waterman Rowe)

Hold or trade? Thoughts?
*used 3 trades to date.
Like the Caleb to Steele/Macrae trade - don’t think Caleb will go 100+ from here. Preference would be Macrae but like both. Like many on here wold prefer to hold Daniher if possible.

Yeah sounds good, i agree, im also leaning towards Dunkley, I'll wait fir the future to maybe upgrade Daniher to Tex (if he can hold his scoring for the season?)
I feel Impey is probably the most awkwardly priced
Yeah Greene seems to be doing well but im waiting to see how he goes a little while longer, it would be just my luck i get him he gets a good score and then suspended for 3 weeks lol

Not sure if there is any rush to bring Jones in (when Waterman is on the bubble)

Likewise for Walsh? High BE after his 89
The advantage of getting Jones & Walsh for my team was getting the crappy rookie off field (Berry/Jordon) but yeah you make valid points.

Lots to ponder as I've used a lot of trades already :/

In an ideal world, I'd like to fix him but I have Butters to address this week and have already used 4 trades.

He was AA last year and I just have to back him in to bounce back & won't hold a cold rainy day in Ballarat against him.

Like many, I'm still trying to figure out what to do with Helmet...hate trading out premiums.

Have crunched the numbers from 2019 to the first 3 games of 2021 (ie. before 19), with 2020 numbers adjusted up by 25% owing to shortened quarters. Note that Helmet has averaged 28 possessions between R1-3 (compared to 25.8 for 2019 and 2020a). Now, while 3 games is not a large sample size, it seems like there is a picture emerging across the stats:

Tackles (19/20a v 21 first 3 games): 3.0 v 2.3
Pressure Acts: 13.4 v 7.7
Defensive Pressure Acts: 9.7 v 5.7
Contested Possessions: 7.1 v 3.3
Uncontested Possessions: 14.8 v 20.3

Massive increase in uncontested possessions, while contested possession have dropped off sharply.

His pressure acts and defensive pressure acts have also dropped off a lot as well. Tackles down.

I wonder whether Helmet is carrying some sort of a niggle...would go some way to explaining how he appears to be hanging around outside for handball receives, and the significant decrease in defensive pressure.

For all of the Stringer discussion, I haven't seen Wingard mentioned yet.
Notably some $200k more pricey but also looks to be getting good volume of mid minutes and unlike Stringer who has Shiel to come back easier to build a case on maintaining an acceptable F6 avg through the season.

After getting burned last year, he's on my never again list

I owned The Chad I think once a long time ago and as per usual with Wingard owners it usually ends in tears. He does look super fantasy relevant again but so has he plenty of times before. So Warner is the only Chad I'm into these days. :giggle:

I suppose my allure with Stringer right now is that I've never even been vaguely interested before. Even when there's been buzz about him in the past like "he's training with the midfield group" or he's just kicked a big bag or whatever the hype has been at the time. Watching him closely in the Swans game he's looking ultra fit and hungry for the contest ... ok he's done that before. But now it's those CBAs baby!

It will also probably turn into a steaming pile when he goes limping off the ground in the next couple of games. However I've never been burnt there before so I'm half tempted to YOLO it this weekend.

I'd also be side switching Daniher for him who isn't exactly a paragon of durability himself so I'm not sure the risk profile of my side would change all that much. Although of course it would cost a precious trade.

Absolutely, and I do get the Stringer love especially considering what Tex has just done.

I just find it an interesting paradox - Stringer and Wingard in near identical situations but for price, but I don't think Stringer can be considered as anything more than a cash cow whereas Wingard could reward someone looking to take a risk at an underpriced F6 keeper (particularly given the bar for top 6 forwards looks to be lower this year).

It's a case of pick your own poison I guess. :devilish:
