The team announcement times are so annoying. I pretty much have to trade Daniel now as I don't know whether Kosi will be back in the team before the Bulldogs game. Any other year I'd just keep Daniel and wear a rookie score for a week if I knew the lineups.

Potentially Campbell > Waterman, Daniel > Lloyd. Or maybe Jordon > Waterman, Daniel > Bowes.

Yeah but my backline already has 6 "keepers" (jury still out on Hunter Clark) and Lloyd is the only defender I don't have that I view as a must-have. Guys like Bowes, Houston, Mills, Short etc. are a little more speculative.
I'd back Short, and to a lesser extent Bowes, to match/close to match Lloyd for the rest of the season.

Clark up to Short or back him to restart cash gen with the North matchup? Got 200k just sitting there.

Clark’s BE is just 36, with him playing North on his home deck this week I would definitely be holding him.
If Clark is named... And in a losing side... He might be expendable considering that he's hardly lit the world on fire. I'd have to trade him if he's dumped.

Wish I brought in Chapman but my options were limited once Flynn was "rested". Had to trade Hunter to play Fullerton in ruck.

This week looking tough for me with Flynn every chance of not getting named and fullarton possibly getting dropped too.

Would Clark to Jones and Flynn to Hickey be a bad move? Just reeks of desperation to me.

If Clark and fullarton are dropped and Flynn is not named... I'm stuffed. And seriously looks a chance of happening.

Current ranking is 229. So wanted to keep pushing. But it may be impossible to do if those things happen.

If anyone can think of any better options I'd appreciate the options

Team is
Lloyd Ryan Laird Ridley Short Clark - Kosi Highmore
Oliver Martin Bontompelli Cripps Zorko Gulden Powell Jordon - McNeil Scott Holmes
Gawn Flynn - Fullarton
Dunkley Walker Ziebell Impey Atkins Warner - Brockman Rowe

Only 19k in the bank

Could you potentially keep a trade in hand, and do Kosi => L Jones a week early if Kosi misses?

Think we should have other rookies that are more pressing bench trade outs but if Highmore is your only one by all means do it.
I was actually quite bullish on him until he got dropped, so it’s a bit annoying as I’d much rather keep him!

Equally he’s the only one that I know is missing or even likely to miss (other than my FD), and he appears to be on the outer given he’s not even an emergency.

I need one of him, Daniel and Kosi to play or be traded out, so I’m erring on chopping the one that is the biggest problem.

If he is named down the track, he’s one I wouldn’t be devastated to trade back in given his scoring to date and very low BE.

I might even do this. Thanks for the idea Darkie. The three things I would like to do this week are in this order:

1. Bring in Dunkley
2. Avoid a donut in defence
3. Bring in Waterman

I really don't want to pass up on Waterman, he presents a great option and at 102k, but I am confident that Kosi plays. I might make my originally planned trade to Dunkley and then cross my fingers and hope that Kosi is picked so I can grab Waterman.

Id be trading Kosi before Highmore

Yep this was always the risk if and when the rookie R2 ruck set-up went sideways. I have this structure in RDT and although it was a contributing reason why I’ve started the season with a top 100 rank the chickens are sure coming home to roost now.

I reckon the Hickey stop gap measure looks a decent move especially in SC assuming Flynn isn’t named this weekend. I’m considering going up to a (hopefully) bottomed out ROB in DT by cashing out the helmet for a rookie and thus perform a restructure on the fly.

It’s a shame that you would lose out on future Flynn cash gen but c’est la vie.

No worries, I’m pretty sure I pinched it from someone in the c. 20 pages I just read 🙂

My understanding is that Kosi is a decent chance to play, so there’s a decent chance of saving a trade altogether (or perhaps using it on something more constructive).

I'd also hold off on the "Mate" move (M8). I reckon the perfect guy to target for that is Brayshaw who's shown the premo ceiling we're looking for but had a rough time of things the past few weeks. Should be able to pick him up dirt cheap once that 40 has fully cycled through his pricing over the next fortnight.

His susceptibility to the tag is a concern so we'll need to monitor that over the next two weeks. But if we can grab him around the $450K mark I personally prefer that option than the others guys you mentioned in that kind of price bracket.
Ughh I can already see myself getting sucked into Brayshaw at 450K.

I can also see myself pulling my hair out over him though, as I don’t think he’s top 8 midfield quality yet.

I hate M8 :ROFLMAO:

Interesting - it sounds like you expect Highmore to be back soon? What’s driving that?
Its more the fact that Kosi is useless and will be dropped for Gunston in the absolute best case scenario within 2 or 3 weeks (think hes every chance to be straight back out for Lewis tbh...) Highmore only needs one opening and hell probably make 150K.
