I would think it is likely then that even if Highmore gets go this week his future seems limited.
Maybe so, but I rate him as a good chance to play this week. With Webster going down, and a number of fringe players not performing in a team that's not meeting expectations...expect he saves a lot of donuts this week.

I don't see Clark coming back in for Geelong (reckon it will be Danger and De Koning out for Cameron and O'Connor) this week; Ridley with concussion and Harry Sharp super unlikely...and then Lachie Jones for all those fools (present company included) that brought him in a week early

7 points under his starting price when the majority of the alternatives have matched or exceeded theirs. His peers were Macrae, Steele, Lyons, Oliver (not great either), Bont and Fyfe (missed game hurts but was utterly predictable). He's also offered absolutely nothing as a captaincy option which for a super premium starting pick is a major letdown.

Throw in that the reason he's been so bad is the well known lack of golden ticket that has dogged him for years. Last year wasn't him getting a golden ticket but instead seems to be quite clearly a symptom of the shorter quarters.

Positive is he still has time to fix it and his last game was a lot better but to this point he's not been a good pick which in a binary system only leaves the bad pick option.

Sadly, he's not in my 5 worst picks though... Heck I've managed to make 3 trades already that are worse than him as a starting pick
But,is it a binary decision.
What about, fair/average, to be decided and any other variables.
I picked Merrett and while not jumping through hoops about it do not consider it a bad selection.

I hope you are right as unless H Clark comes good I am one of those that needs him to play to avoid a donut. For those that did not go early (that is me but I feel your pain) L Jones has a potential silver lining. If he can work his way back in a few weeks he makes a great rookie to bring in mid season which is often a hard time to find them. And a def in a really tough year for rookie defenders as well.
