The answer @Tamuhawk is yes. Can apply option two and just put Zorko in instead of Marshall. I think if Marshall gets around 100 he drops 20k. But I am also wary of Zorko getting more attention now there is now Neale. Appreciate the reply. I might follow up with the Marshall trade the following week as the fwd line needs more attention than the mids at the moment.

And on a completely unrelated line on something that should be in the Rant thread, why do commentators use the term "at the minute". Never heard of that until a couple of seasons ago. I find it annoying as hell. "Nat Fyfe cannot kick a goal at the minute" sounds weird.

I actually really like as many as 5 of the options this week with Highmore, Macrae, Farrar, Bosenvulagi and Robertson. I'd actually make the case this is comfortably the strongest group of downgrade targets that we've had and would maybe go further to say that it might be the best group we get all season. To be fair you could say that Chapman has been the only decent downgrade target so far with Robertson looking likely to join him from last week.
Also some of the most expensive targets. Using average of some of these players and you may get to $300k and only make $120k. Farrar guessing HB rather than CHB, Atu has players coming back, Robertson has one poor score in there.

Upgrade targets have just as many questions.

Bont - barely scored after Dunk inj, 15mins of data only! Does he go more forward and Smith more mids?

Zorko - tag, downhill skier scoring ability this year.

Sidey - Bucks! Darcy Moore playing forward.

Always found R7 upgrades the worst as we think we have enough data then role changes come for some.

May just go Oliver sideways and Houston upgrade and watch fwds for one more week.mills role change and Horse is concerning.

Good luck this week everyone.

Have you considered :-

Dunkley - > Nankervis
Gulden - > Brayshaw

Does that then allow you :-

Rowe - > May next round via DPP

Sinclair , Phillips , Thilthorpe could be possible ruck (short term) options depending on their score next round , Zac Smith possibly playing next round as well.
Thanks Herbie, they're all good value options for the possies I have to fill, although Nank has shouldered the ruck duties solo and won't be able to keep it up the way he plays, plus the Tigers were a better team when Soldo played with Nank allowing them to hold their structure better, so I would think that CCJ would come in soon.
My issue is the ever dwindling trades and the dire need to upgrade my rucks to something reasonably competitive, the difficulty is doing that in combination with fixing my Fwd line and grabbing some of those value picks to fill out the other lines as well.
One step at a time I guess.

Is it too early to go on Marshell?
He looked impressive against Port and was almost a one man band for the Saints on Anzac Day. However I think most coaches should hold off atm. Would try to snag him around $500K or even under if possible. Just a few question marks right now. Is he fully over that foot stress fracture, coming back too early in Rd4? Then he will be sharing ruck duties with Ryder going forward - how does that look? Are the Saints going to be a bottom 6 side this season?

If you are really dying in the ruck and need help this round such as Flynn gets dropped again and have no way of getting to either Gawn or Grundy then I could understand going on him now. But if you are just looking for a FWD line trade-in this week I'd probably shop elsewhere. Has a high BE of 146 so will be cheaper soon.

Was going to go up to Oliver and Brayshaw in as well this week but with the forward line carnage (Dusty out, bad rookies, Rowe potentially dropped), might need to go down to one of the three higher priced rookie options this week, either Robertson, Farrar or Atu. Liking Robertson the best for points scoring potential and an on field option until some of the forward premos present themselves but his price is really not great. Gives some cash for more upgrades next week at least with Frederick also looking like one that should be coming in.

Good point re Nankervis.

I too am looking at the value route over the next few rounds (Brayshaw , May , Heeney , Houston etc) so need to weigh up whether I end up compromising onfield too much and get stuck with some did rookies onfield.

Still running Flynn , Meek , Fullarton so that is a weakness , D6 is Mansell/Highmore/Jones.

Maybe Ben Brown (if and when he appears) could be a option forward.

Is this my opportunity to get Gawn at R2 via Dunkley?

Really wanted to bin Cripps for Walsh this week...

Would love some thoughts here.
Yep use the Dunkley "opportunity" to get Gawn. Try to keep Flynn if you can (especially if he survives in the Giants side this week) but if you have to sacrifice Flynn then so be it. Owning Gawn will reduce your overall stress levels - trust me!

He is the best Supercoach player in the game and a perma-captain. Just make sure he is either your VC or C each Friday and let Gawny do the rest for you. It makes fantasy that much simpler. With Melbourne on an upward trajectory this season it only spells good news for their fantasy relevant players Oliver, Trac, McDonald, May etc and of course big Maxy.

Example trades would be Dunkley down to R2D2 on the bubble and then Campbell up to Gawn via Cyclone Tracy.

Dunkley to Gawn simply has to be done I think!
Yeah, it's looking that way. I guess he's only 5k up on his starting price but it's very annoying to have missed a large chunk of his delicious run to start the year.

Need to find 10k somewhere to fund the Dunkley to Gawn move. Annoyingly, $800 short of Campbell to Dev Robertson!

Thilthorpe/Farrar/Atu all on the radar. Thilthorpe DPP is handy.

I kept Neale through thick-and-thin all this year... and this is how he repays the faith.
With a 2 month ankle injury at the same time that Dunkley does his shoulder.

Injuries to date this year:
-Fyfe
-Butters
-Neale
-Hickey (double trade as I brought him in the week he sustained his injury)
-Dunkley
Have missed the Dangerfield debacle, but been hit with most of the other commons ones.

I would appreciate assistance with my next 2 trades, $639k in the bank (I know - far too much to have in the bank, but I was hoping for a double upgrade this week).

Ideally, I would be culling two rookies this week and double upgrading Chapman > Rich/Lloyd, and Campbell > Boak/Oliver/Brayshaw
I also still have Hickey - my worst decision of the season  was bringing in Hickey instead of Grundy .

However, now I need to sideways Dunkley and Neale, as I can't have a combined $2 mill sitting on the bench+bank.

The question is do I side-ways swap Dunkly and Neale, or do I upgrade Hickey > Grundy and/or Chapman > Rich/Lloyd to plug the other holes in this team?

I wish I had 4 trades! :cautious:

Bench rookies look alright, Def line not withstanding. Gulden > Oliver b/c good matchup and high BE.

Iff Flynn dropped, Hickey to Grundy.

If Mansell dropped & highmore not named, then fix that > Highmore>Lloyd.

Iff you escape that Dunkley to Brown, going to kick 10 on debut, sorry I meant a premium mid, the Bont, get on the golden ticket.

I feel the same way about missing out on Macrae's start to the year but I'll be sucking that up and bringing him in for Dunks this week. You need to try and forget about the past and make the best move for your side going forward. I'd like to bring in Walsh too this week but Macrae's the greater priority. Just can't watch Dogs games until I get him in.

So perhaps look at grabbing Atu or Farrar with your other trade if you can't afford Robertson.

Own both dunkley and neale. I'm looking at a different route to most. Maybe brayshaw and parish in. Or boak. It adds to the change I have then the following week can still afford to trade gulden to one of Oliver or steele. Concerned with the amount of trades used and realistically can't fill my team with all 600k players. So searching for value and hoping those chasing the expensive guys fall short at then end fielding unreliable rookies or even worse cheaper options than those 2

Don't mind the ROB pick and actually have him him in RDT where he is considerably cheaper than Grundy. But in Supercoach I'd probably pay up for Grundy especially with his immediate fixtures where he could post some monster scores.

Frederick is looking like a good downgrade option in defence next week so that should give you the extra coin to get Flynn to either Marshall or even ROB next week along with your remaining bank. I have some concerns over Marshall such as whether he is fully over that foot issue and also how he will perform sharing the ruck with Ryder.

I know he did well last year sharing the ruck with Paddy but if the Saints are going to keep producing non competitive efforts on a semi regular basis then that may not bode well for Saints players scoring well this season. Even Steele has struggled to produce uber premium numbers the past two weeks.

Hopefully Cameron doesn't recall Mummy this week and Flynn can earn another cash increase or two for us.
I have plantar faciatis and its not something you get over quick. Granted I'm 39 and don't have the benefit of AFL medical teams working on me but I don't see how he would be over it. Nearly 12 months and I'm still stuffed. I'd be imaging hes getting injections to help him along.
