Sorry if it's already been covered but does anyone have any info/thoughts re Poulter for the Pies. Dual position M/F at a slightly cheaper price than F. Macrae and named in the guts. On debut today so we've still got time if he goes ok but balancing the risk of going early on him re a trade like F. Macrae at a similar price (who hasn't set the world on fire) and the higher priced Bosenavulagi/Farrah & Robertson.
Poulter is another skinny kid but a bit bigger than Finlay. Both kids seemed to do pretty well in their VFL games but Poulter seems a bit more outside / kick first, while Finlay is a bit more inside / handball first. Bucks notes his disposal is good and he'd be looking at a wing / halfback role in the "shootout" video where his debut was announced to the team a few days ago.

Bit hard to get a read on either of them at the moment obviously so only VFL form to go off.

Ended up going Dunk & Neale - Sidey & Farrar. Will cop a hit in the rankings most likely this week but should set me up for some serious shopping over the next month.

Thanks Grundogging. Much appreciated. Might wait and see how he goes before making the leap (along with everyone else if he looks like being a viable option .... :ROFLMAO:)

Yeah, get the enthusiasm side of it. I had a stinker last year due to ruck issues, however, learnt some valuable lessons by fighting back and doing things I wouldn't necessarily. Part of the reason I moved Neale on this year in round 3 and started Gawndry.

My suggestion is firstly reset your targets for the year, aim for something achievable.

I do focus on leagues and set the target to win the bottom 8 final and top 10k overall, which I won the GF only because I managed to keep 1 trade spare which I dont normally. only finished 22k, however, felt I had momentum at end of the year.

Second is focus on injured players during the season like you are, such as May, Houston, Heeney who present some value. Brayshow ok except when he gets tagged. Ignore injury riddled players to reduce trades, no Fyfe type players. Possibly JDG. A team of 500k players in the mid is not so bad either, just get rooks off field and get consistent players.

ROB a good choice. Just need to get rucks who can constantly deliver. hope it works out Herbie.
Cheers

Dunkley - > O'Brien
Meek - > Mumford

both locked

Next rounds plan is :-

Rowe - > May probably

Will give me Daniel , Laird , Lloyd , May , Ridley & Stewart.

Don't mind Houston as a option if he drops under $ 500k which then means playing Laird as a mid though.

Heeney certainly on the watch list.

Ben Brown goes 75+ in his first 2 games then he becomes a option.

de Goey could be worth looking at as a possible F7 loop (not sure yet)

Have Impey , Martin , Ziebell & Zorko so only 2 spots up forward available.

Really need Gulden , JordOn & Powell to get close to $ 375 k each then try and pick off some fallen mid premiums that are all not M8 or worse.

Berry , McNeil , McCreery (?) might make $ 100k each to trade out so that means targeting mids around $ 475k (yuck)

Have 22 playing this round so will see how they go , then Sunday night review everything again.

Got sick of thinking about it and locked Dunkley + Campbell -> Sidebottom + Finlay.

Some likely bubble boys over the next couple of weeks and a few fallen premos to target so I'll try to fill a few holes and hope against all hope that Leon plays Flynn.

Brought in Dev Robertson and Walsh for Dunkley and Gulden.

Had the cash to bring in either Zorko or Sidey instead of Robertson, however was a touch concerned about the age and roles of Zorko and Sidey, and also there's a few value picks in the forward line. Sidey also playing in a weak side compared to years past. Also wanted to preserve some cash to bring in the top midfielders quicker.

Really unsure about the Dev pick...didn't appear to have much midfield time at all tonight, looked parked in the forwardline the times I watched.

Thought he was probably overscored tonight but I’m not complaining.

Heat map from tonight is consistent with last week’s. Spends most of his time forward but picks up touches all over the ground which is why I went him over the other options.

Didn’t hit the scoreboard this week and didn’t get his hands on it as often but considering the opposition and those modest numbers, I’ll take a 69 for sure.

Has Freo and gold coast next so hopefully that changes.

I've played what feels very cookie cutter up until now but I'm seriously considering a good old fashioned punt this weekend.

With Dunkley and a (almost certainly Swans) rookie out I have a very large field available to me to try and pluck a POD from. If we assume I use Gulden then I have 1.028m to spend. Had a look through the top averages and there's lots to like...

Cookie cutter options: T Mitchell, Lloyd, Petracca, Walsh, Sidebottom (already have J Macrae, Oliver, Merrett)
Diving a little deeper: Heppell, Parish, Guthrie, Duncan, McCluggage, Hind
Proper PODs: Keays, Liberatore, Dale, Greene???

Dunkley being a forced out just opens up so many options that this round feels super pivotal. Mostly though this is just my Ben Keays appreciation post since I really want to pick him but will probably chicken out of it.
Just for fun, the scores of everyone I mentioned in this post, in order: 105, 109, 78, 130 (Walsh, who I took), 85, 87, 107, 132, 98, 117, 89, 86, 83, 112, 83

What I'm trying to say is, I'm really sorry if you spent your Dunkley stimulus on Gawn this week...
