Mansell has been good.
Even if Grimes wasn't out he would probably hold his spot, has also allowed for Baker to be used further up there field.
I noticed Baker playing forward, thought it was due to Hardwick thinking the current forwards weren't having the impact they should be. That's what I heard, can't recall if it was on fox or a Twitter feed.

He's been pushing up the ground a lot more frequently the last 3 rounds.
Wasn't noticed much in the saints game as it was all 1 way.
Next week the chat was all about the Dee's.
Last round he was in the best and it's a revelation that a bloke that was drafted as a fwd is pretty handy when played as a fwd.

Essendon teenager Zach Reid has been struck down by glandular fever.

Reid, taken by the Bombers with pick 10 in last year’s draft raid, fell ill after making his debut in the rain-soaked loss to the Brisbane Lions at the Gabba in Round 5.

The 202cm defender gathered 10 disposals and had five tackles in the match, but complained of feeling sick the following week.

Reid was taken for tests that initially showed a negative result for glandular fever before a follow-up test showed he had contracted the virus.

But there is optimism the infection has been detected early and that Reid will be able to make a full recovery in the short term, much like GWS defender Harry Perryman.

The 19-year-old is said to already be on the path back to full health.

Blessed with three top-10 picks in last year’s draft, the Bombers took Nik Cox (pick 8) and Archie Perkins (pick 9) before swooping on Reid with pick 10.

Reid was drafted as a defender, but can also play forward while pinch-hitting in the ruck.

He has been compared to Dustin Fletcher and Harris Andrews.

Luke Ryan will miss at least one more game of AFL due to a calf injury while Freo are waiting on specialist advice on four other players to ascertain a timeline on their potential return.

Ryan did not play in Fremantle’s RAC Derby clash against West Coast and will miss at least this Sunday’s clash against Brisbane at the Gabba.

High performance manager Phil Merriman said Heath Chapman (shoulder), Ethan Hughes (shoulder), Bailey Banfield (ankle) and Sam Sturt (knee) are all set for stints on the sidelines.

Both Hughes and Chapman injured their shoulders against West Coast while Banfield and Sturt were injured during Peel’s clash against West Coast’s WAFL team on Sunday.

“It was a bit of a bruising encounter at the weekend. Unfortunately, we’ve got the two shoulder injuries out of the AFL game,” Merriman said.

“Ethan sustained a knock to his shoulder and he’ll be seeing a specialist in the coming days. Likewise with Heath Chapman.

Time to trade Chapman for sure now.

Lucky to get off I think.
I thought he was pretty unlucky to get done. Was a legitimate and perfectly reasonable football move by Fritsch that was unlucky to get Powell high because Powell was dipping into the tackle (solid technique fwiw) and just an unfortunate accident as a result.

Thought the high free kick was the correct call/finality of the incident personally but I always hate whenever the MRP is involved because it feels more like a "legal protection" for the AFL than legitimate system.
