Bit risky but I think in your shoes I would get a premo. Flynn to Treacy or other R/F donut works for you as the down next week, and Brockman, Murphy and Jones all look close to being back so your bench hopefully won't look as bad as most in a week or two.

Kelly's worth the risk IMHO, but if you don't want him I'd get a forward. Save that last DEF spot for a cheap Whitfield in a few weeks.

Maybe Marshall this week and Dusty next. Or if you want to wait for Marshall to drop, could do Sidebottom this week.
Thanks. Looking forward to seeing where Jelly is named tomorrow. Will most likely need to pass up on RCD as I'd go with Poulter.

I originally had plans, coming into this week, for one up and one down but have reassessed the thinking.

My original thinking was a need to grab a premo before they get out of reach but my thinking has now switched to double down, get the rookies while they are there and look at the premos when it better suits my team, not when they are at a "discount".

Although I'd like the premo points this week, I can start regenerating the rookie cash and buy premos without compromising my team.

Hope that helps anyone having trouble deciding this week!

I am interested in a response to this too...!

Wood goes out for Ross but I’m not sure if Long or Kent might push him out
I posted last week in one of the threads saying that I know for a fact Dan McKenzie had/has been assured by Ratten that he walks back into the Saints side when fit. He obviously had the one week suspension, and was due to return last week but had a calf complaint. I just checked the injury list and he isn’t on it this week, so suspect he’s a chance for this week. Whist not the same role that McKenzie has been playing, there’s also Geary as a pure number who probably comes into the side when fit and ready.

So overall for mine, Byrnes JS is too much of a worry for me to jump on his week. At this stage anyway.

Still not sure about Titch vs Jelly.

Jelly I can see scoring higher than Titch but has role and injury risks attached. Cogs can replace Ward and De Boar can play as a forward tagger. But what happens when De Boar needs to tag an opposition mid?

Titch got very, very lucky last game with how it placed out. A tremendous number of uncontested groundball gets cause neither teams kicked well, which awards the same points as a contested possession, and much higher than his typical handball receive. Will not happen nearly as frequently again.

I think it's reasonable to replace him with a premium or Poulter if you're trading him - should maintain onfield score or near enough.
Its more about setting up upgrades for me, more cash youve got to play with the better, we picked these guys as cash cows and theyve more than done their job.

Yeah makes sense, thanks for this. The bonus is if he is still in the side with McKenzie and Ross back, it would be a good sign re JS.

Hi Guys & Gals, thinking of bringing in Josh Kelly but worried about durability. He has averaged well in the past when on field but I expect he will miss up to six games (maybe) and you will be forced to field a rookie scoring 60 at best.
Doing the maths this will bring his overall average down from 114 to 99 for the year.
He is at a great discount but if he misses games in future that discount will be nullified to a greater degree.
Am I thinking correctly on this? Surely I am missing something!

New tactic for me, no more trades until around the byes. I'll let everyone waste trades trading in rookies that dissapear before the byes and then move up through the rankings with a barnstorming finish. Maybe
yeah, JS important for rookies right now. Trade a Warner and the replacement may not be there. Need to focus on the weaker rookies.

However, do no trades, and how do you upgrade around the byes, as quality of rookies is even poorer at that time.

Hard to Trade any of Warner, Scott, Powell, Rowe or the cheap ones that I haven't gone up in price.

If you think he misses 6 games from here then you dont pick him. It's a risk/reward move with the risk being injuries amd the reward being value.

Even Todd, the current No. 1, is using one of his 21 trades this week. Just saying’ 😜

If the rookies I get then dissapear, then I'll just sit the least value ones on the pine and use them for looping and trade whats left and hope.

Mind you, I have been known to change my mind sometimes. Hopefully Houston gets up this week.

Kelly is soooo tempting. I started with him as he’s such a classy SC friendly player and had a plan to trade him out at the first sign of injury. I traded him out because he was being played out of position with the potential to lose a lot of money. Now he’s back playing a good role and scoring well 🙃 The issue for me is he’s 8 games nearer an injury - not inevitable though but it’s a miss for me unless you have spare trades.

Thanks Bones, yes he is tempting.
I wonder if the time spent forward this year has reduced his chances of being injury prone! May miss only 1-2 games instead of his normal six. Good pod too.
