Thanks Bones, yes he is tempting.
I wonder if the time spent forward this year has reduced his chances of being injury prone! May miss only 1-2 games instead of his normal six. Good pod too.
Yeah it’s a risk no matter what way you cut it but, when he’s playing well, he’s very enjoyable to own.

still on the trade merry go round. one up one down, double down (rcd, poulter, byrne), mid fallen prem (mitchell, kelly), def value (harmes),

need an alternative view. dropped out of top 1k last week ~1100
thoughts welcome.. brought in bolton last week, don't want to trade him preferably. think whitfield for d6 after he drops into 400s

Had planned on 1 up 1 down, but Ridley still has a high BE and it doesn't look like there were any great 1st gamers last round.

So change of plans;
Warner > Poulter
Mansell > Byrnes

Already have RCD
Worried that Mansell will get the flick after a couple late blunders and Grimes returning, need as many playing throughout the byes as possible.

Leaves me with 378k itb, so trading Kosi to Ridley next week is still easy, could possibly be cheaper too.
Will trade Powell to a premo too, was hoping the $$ fell my way and it would be Steele, but that's unlikely and I'm thinking I need to avoid round 14 bye players anyways.

Thinking Boak will be my pick.
Bye fits my structure, decent price, like his upcoming draw.
His age is a worry, but he finished off last year well.

In readiness for byes

Brockman > Poulter (I’m not gonna hope BM will be playing over byes, if he is so be it). Gets rid of a dead 0 on the bench

Tex > Hall (someone’s gotta do it, another 100 means he’ll be 480k in 2 weeks time)

(Already have RCD, Frederick)

no Byrnes as you are hoping he is playing over byes (might be another dead rook)

Will aim to grab Mitchell/Jelly after their bye. Have Boak/Duncan to spread the load already

Anyone considering Gaff instead of Mitchell as a POD. Adelaide, Giants and Bombers coming up with Crows and Bombers at home. 3 round average same as Mitchell's (114). Or is Gaff aiming too low for a mid upgrade?
I grabbed Mitchell last week and strongly considering Gaff this week. I think i need to leave some bank for future weeks, so Gaff, along with with draw and bye suits my side well. The 98 ave doesnt bother me as his past scores are irrelevant now. His trend looks upwards. My other alternatives are Boak - slightly concerned about durability or Lyons - significantly reduced bank.

So yes, strongly considering

Tough position.

Reckon you take a donut for Murphy this week, and hope he returns in R10. Or hope that Highmore gets named this round.

Luke Ryan - maybe you can use this as an opportunity to sideways out to a premium defender at $430k-470k. This way, you gain 90-100 points this round, plus also unlock $100k-$130k. Also, the trade may also allow you to re-balance your bye round structure in defence (Ryan is one of three R14 premo defenders in your team). Trades that accomplish multiple purposes are ideal.

Also of consideration is that while Ryan is listed as 1 week, if he doesn't return in R10 then you are facing another donut.
Is Ryan out???

Thanks Jel, for a top player he misses an unbelievable number of games - can't believe I an considering him.
So Tom Mitchell it is then, feels safer somehow.

Kelly for me is one of those start or pass players although this year he should have just been a straight pass... You need every score he produces to o***et the missed games. That he's not even scoring well this year should really be all that's needed to stay away.

I still prefer Gaff the most in that price bracket or get up to the Steele/Petracca range. Titch ahead of Kelly as well but not in love with him either.

Since 2017 he's been a 115 avg player, so after being relatively injury free last year i took a punt and started him this year.
With 20/20 hindsight I wouldn't have, but now it's a case of hang on until the end.

Steele is still a good mid but I don't think he's the star he was last year with less stoppages and longer quarters. I wouldn't overpay for him.

I think he's paid the price for the Saints struggling in general. I don't think that the Saints, or he, will stay down for too much longer. I'm looking at Steele in a fortnight & hope he can stay below 600k.

Am bringing in Gaff.

The stats are there, but not the SC scores, just like Titch's were before last weekend. I'm predicting Gaff further improves as his side does over the coming weeks and that mid draw looks very tasty.
