Not exactly a rookie but does any Eagles supporters know what Hutchings status is?
Is now fit after being injured most of the season, will be playing WAFL this weekend.
Depth player these days, can’t see him getting many games especially with Yeo being very close to returning & Shuey due back after the bye.

Thanks for that. Trying to come up with some likely Rd12/13 rookie options with all the ones currently or firming for a debut are round 14 bye players.

Is ESS Cox going to play this round? He was initallly dropped because ESS wanted to rest him, but ESS decided to make him the Medical Emergency and he ended playing half a game. I might have a donut this week if Cox doesn'r play (I have Bosenaulagi and Fullerton who both are unlikely to play).
I'm curious to know if half a game's rest is enough rest, or does Cox need this round to have a proper rest?
I guess I have to wait until Thursday's teams are announced (yippee), but this Medical Sub is still a guessing game if Cox is listed as an Emergency.

I can't see him missing TBH, he was crucial in getting the Bombers over the line on the weekend.

Only played a quarter and was pretty damn good. Reckon that was the perfect result for them, bit of a run, bit of a rest and back in.

Okay, read somewhere while following the game on my PC, that he came on in the 3rd quarter and I was wondering why he wasn't scoring. That explains it!

Yep Smith subbed out at 3QT, Smith did go off with a few minutes to go in the 3rd and looked done at that point so could be that misleading side of things. Distinctly remember the commentators thinking Smith was playing on because he went back to the huddle after some tests but then was given the vest on the way back to the bench.

Cox did a great job to score as much as he did. Good thing the regular sub isn't around as he'd be about as perfect a sub player as you could design this side of Goodes!

Likely Cox will be one of my last Rookie trade outs. I'm hoping Cox stays around for a while and scores well. As a Def/Fwd he will be useful, as it's my Defence and Forward lines that need more trading to finalise them. Almost there for my Midfield.

Are you considering someone like Briggs if he looks like staying on the park? Could be handy for the swing.

Briggs could be handy alright, swapping with Cox.
Ideally during the Byes, I would like many playing players, so Briggs will be a wait and see because Mumford coming back into the side worries me, as Briggs may be the likely one to go out.

Looking at the BYEs and I'm properly screwed for Rd13 and 14 to a lesser extent, so considering holding Powell. I think I read somewhere that Powell's role is being impacted by a change of some sort which will harm his scoring but can't remember what it was - can anybody let me know what has changed?

Bit of talk that Waterman could come back in this week and played some midfield in the VFL on the weekend. (Apologies if mentioned in another thread already) Seems like the type that could help fill the Stringer void.

Certainly a rookie option in the 140's for those of us who passed on him first time around if he does come in.

Not going early on Briggs or Hugo, no chance. A Waterman or Macrae recall would be timely!

From last week’s game, bombers vfl player review report :-

Alec Waterman
Stats: 26 disposals, four marks, five tackles

“Alec had a really good game for us. He was really influential when he went on-ball for us and had quite a few clearances where he set us up. He had a lot of score assists when he played midfield and he was also dangerous as a forward as well so it was an excellent game.”

Perversely I hope that it's Flynn who is out for Mummy, even though I have him.
Briggs staying on the park helps my bye plans.

All second hand, but from memory it was Dumont’s return. The CBAs data (in the Mids thread) may be worth a look.

Dumont the name I've also heard as the difference but it mostly just seemed to be a case of not finding the ball this week, basically Simpkin and Cunnington played so well that the ball kept getting clear of the stoppages and he just didn't ever really get into it.

TOG was also a bit lower which was I'd imagine mostly about management rather than anything else. Post #982 in the midfield thread says that it was a season high CBA usage rate for Powell this week so doesn't appear to be CBA related.

Thanks guys, hopefully it’s a blip and not a trend.

What's his medium to long JS like though?
