Finished 373 overall this year. Not too bad but not as good as last year.

The two washed out matches where only some players scored stuffed up a number of peoples chances. Had fun none the less and love my BBL, especially since it is now on free-to-air TV.

For the final round I went with Paine ahead of Dunk, and also put the C on him which failed, and NCN and Boyce only scoring 5 points between them doesn't help either. But then again most coaches would have had roughly the same sides.
Anyway cheers for playing the last couple of months fellas, thoroughly enjoyed it and look forward to next season. And SC now!! :)
ughrly

Hughes, Doolan now both i the mix to play along with Henriques...

Australia have been dealt a huge injury blow ahead of the first Test against South Africa on Wednesday with allrounder Shane Watson ruled out of the first Test with a calf injury.

South Africa Tour

Australia Test squad for South Africa:
Michael Clarke(c)
Brad Haddin (vc)
Jackson Bird
Alex Doolan
James Faulkner
Ryan Harris
Mitchell Johnson
Shaun Marsh
Nathan Lyon
James Pattinson
Chris Rogers
Peter Siddle
Steve Smith
David Warner
Shane Watson

George Bailey axed from the test squad, Shaun Marsh and Alex Doolan will most likely fight it out for the number 3 position with Watson to drop down to the more tradition number 6 spot for the all rounder. Bird and Pattinson back from injury as well to add to our pace attack, Nathan Coulter-Nile a bit stiff to miss out on the touring squad as well.
Faulnker injured means Henriques replaces him...
I would have thought he could still easily manage the twelfthman duties ;-)
Looks like Shaun Marsh won't be able to make the trip to South Africa.
A real shame as thought maybe his time had come to make the number 3 spot his own.

However, with his bad luck it gives Phil Hughes another chance to stake his claim.
He is now going to South Africa.

Geez,
After Shaun Marsh played in Perth you would think there is no reason he is not sent straight over to South Africa

The ironic thing is he was already in the initial touring party, but never went as supposed to be too injured to make it.
Surely we are not going to have the farce of him being named in squad, left home because they thought he was out injured for a few months and he stays home and plays Shield cricket for rest of summer. Please tell me as a cricketing nation we are not going to be this stupid. He should be on a plane over there tonight... if possible , I would have thought...
If he was initially named in original squad I see no reason to not send him over now, even before Watson got ruled out of Test....

Could not agree more. It will be interesting to see which 2 of Doolan, Henriques, Hughes and Marsh get the call up now.
I'm hoping Hughes for Watson in batting order and Shaun Marsh for Bailey.

Rogers
Warner
Hughes
Clarke
Marsh
Smith
Haddin
Johnson
Harris
Siddle
Lyon
with Smith doing some bowling when quicker bowlers need a bit of a spell

However Henriques may come in for Watson if they really want some genuine 4th bowlers to seam or swing it a little.

I'm desperately hoping Australia put in a good performance and haven't been hyped up to much. South Africa have the best opening bowlers in the world, and some of the best batsmen. So do Australia, but I'm not sure they are at the same level as SA

Yep I agree with this line-up, Hughes deserves another crack at it and so to Marsh coz the form he is in (even if it has been 50 over and 20 over games) is very good at the moment.

Wow! Another 14 runs and these two have a double century partnership against the top ranked bowling attack in world and on their turf.

Good start for us on opening day of series.

Go Marshy and Smithy!!!
Well doen Shaun Marsh!!! Graet to see him come back in an perform, really great stuff.
Played a real test innings by the sounds of it.
Also gee Steve Simth has improved, on 91n.o. so hopefully he can bring up the 3 figures again. Becoming a really important test cricketer for us down at 5 or 6.
