Throwing ahead to the next race... time to consider trading out the second Red Bull too for a couple of rounds?

Yeah they won't make money so its a possibility. But it could also mean leaving points on the table.

I'll be considering a Max to Lewis trade as my other drivers (Bottas, Norris, Sainz) should all be good for another price increase next round.

So in Austria, knowing I was facing a cash deficit, I threw a hail Mary, trading in both mercs and Lewis, and captaining Lewis. It didn't work out and it took me until last Thursday to check the damage!

I decided to stick fat for one more week, mentally committing to writing the season off if it didn't. It worked well, 4th overall for the round, up to 25th overall, and a competitive cash balance.

@Wolffy84 you are looking good mate!

That round was a disaster owning 2 Red Bull's plus Max (Which everyone had though).

Tried to trade out the second Red Bull to a Merc... But was 1 trade short this round.

677 points but no drop in overall.

Feel I've lost a fair bit of ground though cash wise.

749 points and somehow up 55 places to 82nd.

Thinking it might be Max to Hamilton this round for me also. Also seems like Danny Ric may be getting more comfortable in his car so he (and/or McLaren) might be a good option next round. Will have to wait for Wolffy's break evens before I decide! ;)

Some great movement up the ranks in our league and special congratulations to Xabifernando for 4th this round and Wolffy for 10th overall.

I've prepared some driver and teams break evens going into round 11.

Drivers: Dan Ric -2, Tsunoda 7, Latifi 9, Russell 12, Leclerc 13, Gio 13, Alonso 20, Mazepin 23, Stroll 25, Schumacher 31, Ocon 31, Norris 32, Bottas 35, Sainz 36, Kimi 39, Gasly 66, Vettel 76, Hamilton 99, Perez 122, Max 154

Teams: Williams 0, Ferrari 17, McLaren 24, Haas 27, Alpine 40, Alpha 48, Alfa 50, Aston 79, Mercedes 88, Red Bull 165

For those that didn't trade at least one Red Bull car to a Ferrari or a McLaren last round, that will likely be a priority trade this round. Mercedes are also good value and by obtaining 140 points at Silverstone, they are unlikely to lose significant value between now and two rounds time.

Hard to go wrong with the number of cheap driver options available this round. Dan Ric has finally put together two great races in a row and is guaranteed a price increase this round. Leclerc should have two good price increases to come and for those that traded in Norris, Bottas or Sainz last round, there isn't anything wrong with holding them again. Even Tsunoda is a good chance to increase in value again.

Can I trade my one remaining Red Bull car?
It's not a terrible idea actually. Their round score of 68 (20 of which came from Perez getting fastest lap, just to steal it from Hamilton) is the first time Red Bull has scored less than 110 points this season. It's almost impossible to see them avoiding a price decrease over the next two rounds and Ferrari and McLaren will bridge that gap somewhat. Still 13 rounds to go.

Can I trade Max?
This one is more difficult. Before this round (assuming his tyre hadn't gone in Baku), Max would be averaging 151 points over the last 6 rounds. And he got pole this round and was leading when he DNF'd. So if he dominates the next two rounds, he probably wont gain value but he also wont lose value either. And if he does dominate and he isn't in your team and isn't your captain, that's going to cost you points.

Realistically, you can only trade him providing you have the captaincy on Hamilton. Bottas is doing fine now but he isn't a captaincy option. Perez would be a very brave captaincy selection.

Trades
Very subject to change. I can't bring myself to trade out Max yet and due to Hamilton's 4th place in Austria, I'm tempted to wait a round to see if I need to switch Max to Lewis.

Otherwise, Red Bull to either of Ferrari or McLaren depending on practice pace and Sainz to Leclerc. I'll likely have to pass on Dan Ric as neither Bottas nor Norris are must trades this round. Lots of money in the bank to use in a couple of rounds time.
Out: Red Bull, Sainz
In: Ferrari or McLaren, Leclerc

Thanks very much, but I certainly haven't been as high as 4th in any of the weeks. You are absolutely flying too. Still plenty of time to catch up the remaining points to the leaders.

That's very nice of you. Wouldn't worry about points so much this round, given most would have had Max C. Providing your overall ranking is moving up you are still very much in this.

Members of our league will be making up lots of places in the second half of the season. It's worth checking out the Team Values on the Rankings tab. There are many teams high up with low team values. That's likely to be unsustainable in a few rounds time.

Great write up again @Wolffy84 .

Ricciardo with a negative BE really sets the cat among the pigeons! I was quite sure I knew which way I wanted to jump and now I'm questioning again. I think a lot is going to depend on how the Ferrari vs Mclaren battle looks after practice.

Something that might help to make decisions from here is to think about what the end game is now. So obviously you're going to want Lewis, Max and their four cars, but the last two spots are pretty up for grabs (season scores):
Bottas 738, Perez 709, Norris 690, and even Leclerc 585 could get on a roll.

Given how identical most teams will be once they get to that point, I think the next few rounds are moving time. I'm actually considering going full send and going double Merc with Lewis C to try and claw back some ground. Something like Max to Ricciardo and AT to Merc...
The safer option I'm looking at is Bottas to Leclerc and AT to Ferrari/Mclaren, which gives me good coverage for a wide range of results but won't get me ahead...

You are welcome. I'm hoping one of McLaren and Ferrari is well ahead in practice so it makes those choices a bit easier.

I can see Perez, Norris and maybe Leclerc batting for the 4th spot, but I currently see Bottas as a clear number three. He lost an easy 2nd place in Monaco with that bizarre pit stop error and Baku was a write off. Since then he's finished 4th (higher if the Mercedes team had listened to him), 3rd, 2nd and 3rd. Until Perez regains his form, Bottas is a pretty easy hold.

It's tough, but Red Bull are likely to lose about $1.5M over the next two rounds and Perez about $2M. If you can take the points hit and load up with Ferrari/McLaren drivers and cars, we will all be looking at having strong teams over the last 10 rounds of the season.

Not the biggest sporting event on right now but there is a race from Hungary this weekend.

FP1 is over. Tsunoda crashed out. Otherwise it was Max and the two Mercedes up front again.
Thunderstorms predicted for both FP3 and Quali and the race on Sunday.

Sainz has been forced to take his third and final power unit of the season too after a problem was detected overnight.
