I was hoping this was a non-elim episode as well, as having only a few people, let alone just one decide who goes at this point seems wrong. Hopefully they don't drag out the redemption rock part too long, and either Baden or the next voted out return on Sunday.
Yeah I had a feeling when it went to 1 person voting only that it would probably be an exile island type situation.

Just cant get into Australian Survivor, all feels very scripted and heavily producer influenced.
I tend to agree. Survivor has always been a very curated product. It kind of has to be to maintain the tension and excitement.

But this season of Aussie Survivor the seams of "editorial direction" are really showing. Lately it's feeling more like a season of Beauty and the Geek than true Survivor competition imo.

Bit odd how the Exile Island thing didn't immediately happen after the merge when Kez's torch was snuffed out. It's almost like the Producers don't want a Brawn winner.

Just finished watching The White Lotus on Binge. An absolute must for anyone who has ever worked a customer facing job.

Very funny dark comedy/drama. Fantastic take on a soundtrack and some really enjoyable character development/implodement!
I'll second that. Although there is some close-up male nudity especially in the first episode I wish I never saw - thanks HBO!?

I'm a huge fan of Mike White's stuff in general (such as Enlightened with Laura Dern) and The White Lotus didn't disappoint. Great cast including Jennifer Coolidge and Aussie Murray Bartlett as a dodgy resort manager.

Surprised Baden only latest on the pole for such a short time. I thought the challenge would go for about 3 hours.

I did think he started with his grip wrong, initially he had his arms in an upward direction above his head. Needed his arms to be horizontal.

Queen Hayley survives! Although not sure why they wouldn't just vote her out again asap seeing as she's now everyones public enemy no.1. Would take a lot for her to cime back from this. Pherhaps she becomes a free agent now. From the promo though, seems as though brawn are going to turn on each other. Emmett can't be winning every individual immunity challenge like that or else no one will want to take him to the last challenge. The first time he loses a challenge, think he's goneski.

I love how they were promoting "big moves" for this episode, yet they vote out a complete non-entity.

Why did the Brawn's all trust George in the first place, when he'd already betrayed them once? Can't believe he is still around. Fools.

There definitely were big moves in this episode. Not all big moves have to work though. They just didn't pay off for Dani & Emmett. It was a smart play from George as he couldn't be 100% sure whether it was going to be Dani/Emmett. All he could guarantee was that the brains would trust him as they didnt really have any options. As you classed Gerald as "non-entity", it made him the perfect target to make a blindside. Perfectly executed. But I know what you mean, Gerald is the perfect goat to bring to the final 2 and definitely isn't the threat that George made him out to be. But with Gerald gone you now have 3 brawn who will no longer work with each other and an idol flushed out. If George voted Dani out you'd still have strong 3 in Emmett/Flick/Gerald. He couldn't vote for Emmett as he knew flick would play the idol for him. So there was only 2 options left in Gerald/Flick. I'd say it was definitely a big move.

I think Brawn chose not to believe Hayley and side with George as he's been voting with them everytime more out of necessity than a choice. Despite that explosive last tribal when Hayley blew up George's game, they still needed him as a number to keep a majority. You just have to look at the numbers and voting him out wouldn't have given them a majority.

E.g If they had voted George out.

Original Brawn: Emmett, Gerald, Dani, Flick
Original Brain: Andrew, Laura, Wai, Hayley, Cara

Cara would 100% flip back to brains if Geroge was voted out. Therefore I don't see an option where voting George out helps the original brawn group. I might not like the guy but gotta give credit where credit is due. His game has definitely been great ever since the tribe swap.

Dani had the right mindset in voting Emmett out. Making a random alliance of 5 though out of the blue from the reward challenge wasn't smart. You just need to go back to original tribe to see that Gerald/Flick weren't even on the same side as Dani and for her to put that much trust in them was very naive. I think her losing her no.1 in Chelsea definitely has effected her game. Like she did pre-merge in voting Simon out early, I think she needed Emmett for a few more tribals like maybe final 7 and then make the move on Emmett. She now doesn't have the numbers and is very vulnerable.

I thought Dani played it poorly. That was a tag tag bunch of people to try to form an alliance with, with nothing in common except the reward (I know that can work sometimes, but it’s not a particularly stable base around which to build your future game). It was also only 5 out of 10 even if she had them all locked in (a sit turns out she had none!), with Gerald and Flick quite visibly not on board with her plan. Gerald looked quite uncomfortable about it, and Flick seemed to be dodging eye contact by hiding behind her hair.

George not telling Cara the plan meant the entire tribe knew it was George who played the idol. Good plan, but not executed the way he would have hoped with Cara's reaction. Surely now he has to go?

And lol... why not just give 5 immunity necklaces away, literally no point giving just Andrew one. The term "individual immunity" has lost all meaning 🤣

I'm interested to see how (if) George gets away with that move. I think he's in trouble now based on the preview, although just about everyone left has been on the chopping block at some point and could be argued to be lucky to still be in. Andrew and Flick are maybe the two exceptions and neither seems to be getting a winners edit.

Silly play by George, but equally very silly from Cara. She shows very little nous for mine, a surprising number of the Brains seem to!

This last point is interesting. I meant to ask:

Surely Flick’s chances have risen dramatically now? Who’s going to suggest voting her out?

Not sure about this. Hasn't been featured much during the confessionals all season. Unless she pulls off a Shane Gould, can't see her winning.
